$175.00 EACH?????

Shite! I just sold a front..... bonnet, both lights & grille for $350.00

Just Jap want $150.00 each for their's & a couple of years ago I was buying front nose cuts for $600.00. From these I got headlights, grille, lower skirt spoiler, front bumper, washer pump, radiator, thermo fans, a/c condensor and the front air dam that now appears on the Jenesis site.

Best I keep mine for spares, one day I might pick up a cheap DR cause the owner won't be able to repair it eh! hahahahahahahahaha

AND attached, maybe????? is the drawing for the short shifter conversion

??? thats what i through 2doors only for PN but his is full badged signed and has the interior!! hes not going to be happy about that! it runs the l20et so its not a dr either?? i also saw that 2door PN for sale which is what made me ask roy if there were 2door and 4door, i know of another PN that sold for $10000 on the other side of brizzy that is a 2door as well

If it's all badged and looks legit, it may be.

If it's an HR on the compliance plates on the firewall it could easily be, but we have never seen one out here.

Remember! there is a lot of cars in Japan that we don't know of & it's hard to believe someone would try to make a copy of a slug.

What you think?

Like to see a pic of it.

How you going with them plastic inlet snouts RSX.

with the paint i went to the nissan place here on the coast and they told me it should be on the manufactures plate on the fire wall, mines in japanese yours would be too! thats not to much help !! the black rocker cover with turbo on it does add that edge!

RSX,

You no read properly.

NO compliance plates on the firewall, not anywhere on the car.

84 model, imported in 97, under 15 year rule, not hard to work out why no compliance plates and a receipt saying 82 model.

Something else, if your not sure of the year of manufacture of your import, are you aware the year of manufacture is on your front brake hoses.

attach didn't work on my work pc but maybe on others! $175.00 was the price from JAUSTECH around 1.5 years ago each!! just jap were "R30 what" at that time so jaustech had them and that was good enough for me

For Just Jap then, i'm not surprised.

But for the attachment, email me and I will give it to you that way, but it won't be any good to you, as you have an R31 RB turbo box.

Looking for an R33 GTS 25t Tailshaft, if anyone can help.

i throught you were talking english reading ones, sorry there, and i can only seem to get my hands on the snorkel thing for the l24e version, dig alittle deeper might be able to find the other one for you!! works got me in here 24/7 latley (bastards)

no don't bother with the attachment as its no good and i'm running the r32 box :boobies2:

hey all, who was asking about the L24E ECU?

I cant remember where, but i read that they are not very flexible, even as much as a lumpy cam effects some vacum signal, the ecu cant compensate for this and the engine wont idle properly.

Thats what i heard anyway.

Seriously the first mod anyone with a L24E should do is to cut a hole a in the airbox lid, it will make it sound totaly sweet, and it goes a little better too.

Also I recently stuffed my L24E, racing VN commodore, i was winning up to about 180kph and then it died. Pulled the head off and no 1&2 pistons and cylinders are shagged, starved for oil i think.

Anyhow, if anybody has any L series motor, or perhaps even a RB30 that runs. If you are willing to sell it please let me know.

Cheers, Mick.

PM stu-r30 as i think he has an rb30e for sale, what kind of km's did she have on her?

when i took my car for a spin on sat i put a VN to shame, got to thrid and backed off as had a car length and a 1/2 on him, don't think he knew what to think! also had 2 rotors take an interest as my car just burbals, like something with a large cam, didn't want to push me luck!!

unlike l's to run low on oil delivery. we cannot use spacers over here in NZ, unless they get certed :D

anyone here done the swap ? ive just put a frount mount on my hr30 and its toatly changed the whole car. soooo much more power :D. but the brakes are definitly not up to the task

Mick I've got a 180,000km RB30E sitting in the shed, was out of my R31 TI. Also have the computer and the auto box and computer that went with it. Runs well (well, it did before I took it out of the car...)

Took it out cos I found one for $450 that had had the hydraulic lifters replaced, and mine was starting to tick a bit (then when I took it out found out that the exhaust manifold studs were broken, as were the ones on the new engine, and the new engine ticked too... waste of a grand)

$300 ono if you want it, its in Adelaide

    • Well.... it's not just "de-oxygenating". If you do that you just have, most likely, ethane. So you still need to do a synthesis step to combine a number of ethanes/ethanols to make circa-8-chain hydrocarbons. And of course you don't want straight chain HCs, because n-octane actually has a negative octane rating (ie, it's worse even than the n-heptane which sets the zero on the octane scale!), so you have to do some tricky catalytic chemistry to synthesise branched HCs. That's all doable - but it doesn't come for free. And.... it starts with ethanol, which is an agricultural product, and there will almost certainly never be enough of that as a base stock to replace the liquid fuels that are in use. You really wouldn't want to be planning to be using any more ethanol for fuels than is currently already used (in E10, E85s, etc). And ideally you'd be looking to reduce such usage, as it is largely wasteful, particularly in the stupid-ole'US-of-A where the corn lobby has organised it so that it's actually primary production corn that is used to make a lot of the ethanol, not by-products and waste, like it is (mostly) elsewhere. So, what I said about needing free-ish energy probably still applies. True synth fuels would be made from H2 and CO2, in a near reversal of the combustion process. In fact, given that the H2 would be split from water first, it actually is a complete reversal of the combustion process. But...energy intensive. The human race burns something like 1 cubic MILE of crude oil, after it has been made into various fuels. Every year. That's a simply stupendous amount of energy. Just assume that the density is 900 kg/m3, and that the calorific value is 45 MJ/kg, then that is 165.9 x10^12 MJ of energy. Or more than 10^19 Joules. You get a maximum of 1 kJ/s per square meter solar radiation falling on the planet's surface, and so if you halve that for daylight, and halve it again for average weather (highly optimistic) and then take ~25% for the very best efficiency of solar panels, then you need about 85.7 billion square metres of solar panels to generate enough electricity to replace that liquid fuel energy consumption. Each panel is about 1m2. That's a rather large number of panels. We also burn about a cubic mile of coal. We also use hydroelectric power. We also use nuclear. We also use a number of other sources, both "renewable" and not. You can kind of ignore the renewable ones (except for hydro, because it will all end up getting subsumed into pumped hydro for storing other renewables, and so it won't be the standalone renewable that it originally was), so we end up needing a multiple of the ground area number that I just arrived at.
    • Corvette thread then? Don't say I didn't predict the future again. "I love the little MX5, I do, but I just want something a little easier to get in/out of, a little more cushy and some power would be nice - I miss the V8 Rumble... I found this clean red C5 for sale recently and..." I'll do you a great deal on the next step, which is one of those but you can fit people in it, too.
    • What about renewable diesel and/or gasoline? I see some projects spinning up like de-oxygenating ethanol to make drop-in compatible bio-gasoline especially in CA. I still think the future is EVs and we should've all gone full throttle on nuclear power after the 1973 oil crisis like France. Despite 15 years of work in CA to reduce the CO2 intensity of generation with renewables our electric grid is still far worse than even "low carbon" nuclear power. ICE is pretty cool when you aren't depending on the stupid thing to be practical and reliable and cheap as possible to get you to work every day. It's kind of like mechanical watches or vacuum tube amps.
    • I just rolled over "my" first 10k km in the MX5 Every time I go anywhere it always ends up in a adventure to look at houses and find some random country roads I've been on leave since early November but unfortunately need to go back to work on 19 January Luckily though I still have a fair chunk of leave left to burn until.... Not that I'm counting 😁
