Hey all just thought i'd share my boot install just finished last week

its a 12" DLS Free Air Subwoofer with DLS X-Program Mono Amp and a DLS X-Program 2 Channel Amp running my front splits :)

looks better now Cara, with two amps..lol, and great choice of equipment!!!.

hope you sorted the free air sub out, it was too loose in the sound off a few weeks ago. the baffle isnt right and needs to be sealed up better to control of the cone? a few simple and cheap tricks to make the woofer think it has a bigger box(tire well) and make it sound smoother hit harder??

Chris Rodgers and I are old installers ..lol, not just opening my mouth to waffle on.. so if you need help , you have my phone number. otherwise it looks nice much better then the old box hey!!! :)

defenantly looks better!

I would never go free air, takes a very special kind of woofer to cope with it and give good results.

In my opinion you will get much much better results even if the woofer is in a small sealed enclosure , such as the spare tyre well and use there tricks that us installers know to fool the woofer into acting like its in a slightly larger enclosure then what its really in.

EDIT: dam you cara lol,u got in before i did haha. Last year i organised the term lab setup to be there for the autobarn store i was working for at the time. i dont know if they have organised it again this year but i can cirtanly find out for you.

can I offer some visual tips Cara, dont shoot me for this...lol but the mounting tabs/screw heads on the amps are ugly, and should be mounted under the amp or a floating look to enhance the lighting for shows, a persplex mount under the amps to grab the light from the LED's above ?

sorry I know you just had it done... :) it still looks better by a 1000%

Cara is that a port with the mesh on it? that would be the problem or part of it. for the sub flutter.

can I ask why they didnt use a sealed box sub ? and sealed up the spare tire well?
