GTR_STEALTH
Keep them both... The $560 rego over the course of a year comes to about $10 a week which is peanuts if you get enjoyment from driving the 'line. I drive the Yaris during the week, and after a while the slowness gives me the shits; thats when i wip out the GTR Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257814-have-big-decisions-to-make-the-next-few-months/page/2/#findComment-4435766 Share on other sites
THR34T
Option 2 or sell both and get a stagea, family wagon with power! saff_cossie
If the skyline isnt going to be used a lot especially for events where it is going to be punished, I would keep it. Track days etc will start to chew up $$ which is fine when you have the disposable income but you dont want to have to leave it sat in the garage for weeks as you can't afford new pads/tyres after destroying them. The Jazz pricing as someone else says is out of whack and everyone is looking for a bargain at the moment, much the same reason as you are building a house as opposed to 6 months ago I suspect? It also sounds like you have done a few little bits to the car so I would keep it rather than lose that money too. However all of the above is null and void if you are not into performance cars like you were 12 months ago, we all go through it and some emerge to get something better, others settle for lesser cars. NickR33
a fairly stock 33 GTSt is a good street car/daily driver... as long as your not thrashing the crap out of it its reliable and pretty cheap to fix... there are heaps of standard parts out there at wreckers etc... sure it hasn't got as much space for shopping but your not shopping for an army, I never had trouble fitting stuff in the line, even for week long holidays down the coast you will sell the Jazz much easier and get a better price for it... I dunno about you but I can't stand driving little hatch backs even on the shortest most boring trips... I have a little Corolla there to drive daily but have taken the GTR nearly every day lol... and its FAR from practical... its a sickness:) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257814-have-big-decisions-to-make-the-next-few-months/page/2/#findComment-4435984 Share on other sites
(OO)SKYLINE(OO)
Since Mels got the Subaru Impreza 4 door, which I assume has more interior room then the Jazz, sell the Jazz and keep the Skyline. Or sell the Skyline too and just have one car, but that can be inpractical as you and Mel both work and is easier with 2 cars. And / or sell the dog, that will cut down some cost too. juzz
haha im in the same position kind of...I just bought an r32 gts4 and i have a Honda Jazz Also and dont know whether to sell it or not. The market for the Jazz now has dropped so u would most likely be losing a bit of money on it hence why i probably wont sell mine. Its also modified(yes thats rite) so to return it too stock would b a huge pain. Its always good to have 2 cars tho coz when 1 stuffs up u got another like wen my 32 gets sprayed and has work done to it ill have the Jazz to drive =). iamhe77
Well guys, I have finally put a deposit for a block of land in my project site in Pakenham (my work). So by the end of this year, i should be in my brand new houseNow, because I have a dog, and pakenham is in the sticks, I was considering taking the jazz of the market and selling the skyline instead. I was thinking of using the jazz as the prime ppl mover - only times when i will have to drive far would be to go to my PT sessions and gym, taking my dog to the vet, and to go to the dandy market for groceries. My skyline has the following mods: exhaust, pod, DBA 4000s rotors with ferodo formula pads (on fronts), alpine sound system (sub, amp, speakers, tweeters, crossovers, headunit), hids and HR racing rims. Has done 115000klms. Jazz is advertised on sau -> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/20...65#entry4414165 Asked mel (my gf) - she wants me to keep the line, cos shes got a 4 door subaru anyway. And she said she will help with groceries and furniture and stuff. But its come down to cutting costs and what not to be able to live in our new home. What am I expecting to get for the skyline now? What should i do? Sell them both & get a Stagea. Don't worry about the vet, take him to Cardinia Veterinary Centre & ask for Sam. Damn good vet (they are pretty hard to find IMO). Dande market is straight up the freeway = great economy driving (avg about 13-14km/L in my M35). I am guessing that you are buying in the Cardinia Water's? Just moved from Pakenham (value for money on BIG blocks is poor), was living off Army Rd. Not a bad suburb really, getting pretty big, just watch the cops with your Skyline. They don't like pods & exhausts on imports there... *hint* They don't know Stagea's.... yet. djhatzigiannis
import market is dead atm but put both up for sale and see which one sells first however make sure u geta a good price...hopefully it will be the jazz that sells first so u can keep the line Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257814-have-big-decisions-to-make-the-next-few-months/page/2/#findComment-4436207 Share on other sites

arep3
Pakky is not the sticks! ahh well on second thought yea.... i grew up here. i gotta drive to Springvale everyday for work. i bought a holden apollo for a daily for $1500. huge boot 4 door auto. great for getting around and carting stuff. from driving to and from work and running around it costs me around $60 to $70 a week on fuel. if you love driving then you may wanna keep the skyline. my gtr sits in the garage most of the time. good fun to dig it out once in a while. id love the cash but couldnt part with it. spent too much and would get stuff all if i sold it. id just weight up the options and look at what you want the most. pros and cons of each option etc... alwaysdreaming
sell the jazz man, you get way more money for it, quicker sale and you can always buy a POS car later for less than 2grand and still have pride cause you have a line in the garage . eMsta
i had to drive last night back to pakenham from Mt waverley - cos i left one of my bags at work. Man, had so much fun just cruising in the line!!!!!! Its been a while since i just took it out for a drive. So I think its clear that the skyline stays. Also spoke to the gf last night, and asked her again if the jazz would be better as she would have to drive to richmond from paky. She said get rid of the jazz - cos her car does pretty well in petrol consumption anyway. So yeah - it looks like the jazz is the one to go. And as Gezza (above) said, i can always get a pos runabout if i need to.......but am going to try and not get one...... Wheezy
Not much love for imports out in Pakenham, buy a Clubsport and be the local hero down at the pub Nah, will be good to have another skyline brother down there, most guys who own them down that way are pretty ignorant when it comes down to it and are really itching to get back into their VH commodores Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257814-have-big-decisions-to-make-the-next-few-months/page/2/#findComment-4437654 Share on other sites
iseekool
Sell both. Buy and R34 4 door n/a or turbo - keep it stock (if you can resist) - with a non metalic colour so it can be used as a daily. Good fuel economy. Boot is huge and rear seat space is pretty good. You get the best of both worlds - family car that still has potential if you wish.... They go for peanuts these days especially if you go the n/a route..... 'double garage' to house a 93 Magna, and Vs Holden. their garage has both car and one pushbike. no room for anything else, and they can barly just open there doors, its like a springvale car park in there (be very cautious) if you can mod you garage before it gets built ( if your building) see if you can get atleast another 2ft square attached (room for plaster also) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/257814-have-big-decisions-to-make-the-next-few-months/page/2/#findComment-4438977 Share on other sites
