hey guys, i have a nismo GT-LSD pro TT going into my 33 and was wondering what's the deal with oils...

do you use a mineral oil for the run in like a motor?

or should i use the nismo oil for the run in, then fill with motul?

or vice versa?

thanks :)

I just put generic lsd oil in for the run in, dumped it then put the kazz stuff in. Just remember the most important part of running the diff/clutch packs in is to 'clutch in' before turning full lock at the start off each end of the figure 8. Alot of people just go out and do figure 8's with out clutching in which is one of the worst things you could do for the lsd. Then they wonder why its overly noisy :ermm:

But at the end of the day its up to you, if spending the extra $100 on another bottle of Nismo oil is going to give you piece of mind that your $1500 odd lsd is going to be looked after then it might be worth it.

i just chucked in the supplied oil (veruspeed 80w90 with nismos?) and went and did figure 8's for half an hour at a fairly constant 20km/h. then tracked it a few times

No idea if it is synthetic or not. i may have to look that up prior to the next oil change.

My diff is the clunkiest, tightest, mechanical i have ever driven and it works brilliantly.

Kaaz are really just covering their arse with the bedding in details to protect them from the idiots who decide to go out and flog f**k out of the car once the diff goes in thinking now they can drift. As long as you do some sort of low load bedding for a reasonable amount of time you will be fine.

And their service intervals are just silly. 10,000km? Stock plate type mechs are still 40k intervals, so again, i'd say arse covering.
