cough cough i nearly bought a mint condition series 2 just before last christmas for $22000 NZD but i only had $17000 and 260rs is almost too unreal for a first car . so i bought an RS four S

Yeah well maybe you all better check the Yen/Dollar rate.

This accounts for most of it.

Autechs are now running around 1.4 - 1.7 million Yen. A lot cheaper than a year or so ago.

The exchange rate means that landed & on the road, they are a fair bit more expensive.

Even 2 years later my car (still selling at over a million yen in Japan) would be more expensive today!!

I aint complaining though!

Any Autech in the mid to low 20k's is still pretty good buying. See what the equivalent Skyline sells for.

It's only this economic downturn that has made the market fall, that and maybe a glut of cars on Australian roads.

Anyway, anyone that was serious buying an Autech should have bought RBNT's......... bargain of the year!!

That price also includes 12months rego, 3 yrs warranty, 12 months roadside asistance, free delivery anywhere in Oz. Take all that away i reckon you'd be able to drop the price down.

makes me want to buy a rb26 twin manifold, modify to suit rb25, and bolt on 2x gt2860rs disco potato's :D

manifolds $300 for new stainless rb26 pair plus old rb20 headers

modify for $200 at most

3x 3' Y exhaust tubes $60

2x 5bolt Gt dump pipes $240

2x dual bb gt2860rs $1800 with lines

welding and cutting work...

so around two and a half grand (to 3 grand tuned & finished) would be enough for the above products......

bolt on manfold, bolt on turbos, use T junctions in water & oil lines, bolt on dump pipes, cut current dump pipe, weld 2x flanges onto Y exhaust piece and weld onto dump, join up exhaust

use anouther Y exhaust piece to join up the 2x turbo intake to the afm and pod filter, and the other to join to intercooler.

bit of metalwork and mucking around so you'll need some custom welding done, trial and error fitment...

but thats my current thoughtline......................... :)

:P

uh-huh :P

with all my work so far would make the rb25dett almost as good as a worked rb26dett, considering it'd be a $40k car all up @ end of project

Yep, it was a good deal. Its sold now and is on its way to the new owner, who has been very patient (weve had weather dramas) and is waiting for his new toy with baited breath.

mine had just over 500hp atw, was great fun if not a little mental. THe new owner will have a ball with it come winter.

Ill change the avatar when the new car arrives (its a shed toy)

I bought mine 3 and half years ago for $35k (yeah I know, cheap hey), I spent another 35k on it and did around 5000km after doing the work. It was a shed pony hence the reason for selling it, wasnt going to appreciate for some time.
