they both have very similar stock power: GTiR = 177kw or so and R33 = 187kw from memory.

AWD and lighter weight should have the R33 covered pretty easily. The problems arise when you mod them. with a FMIC, increased boost, exhaust + intake mods, and you start to reach the maximum power that the clutch and gearbox can take ~ 230kw or so. Also they are hard to work on. I think the whole engine needs to be removed to replace a clutch etc.

Still they would be an awesome car. Not many around in Melbourne, would beat the pants off lots of modded cars, even when stock, and its like a mini GTR

Yeah a friend has a GTiR and he was giving me a pretty hard time in my GTR, they are quick. Stock, if the driver is good, they can reel off high 12 second quarter miles, so youd need a pretty highly tuned GTSt to keep up.

they are not high 12s stock. more like mid 13s

the only production stock nissans that can reel of high12s are GTRs only with onboost clutch dumping like 7000 rpm.

gtst wont have a chance againts gtir providing theyr at the same level. what a shame:(

but hey!!! sakwaayyyy lines pulls more chics!!!:P
