a guy jumped in front of the train entering edgecliff station (bound for bondi). He "stuck" to the front for a bit, then

slid down & underneath.. train stopped after 2 carriages had entered the platform.

the surprise was how much people just sorta stood around. Train driver gets on the phone. People on the train

just sat there (they couldn't get off I guess without a decision on the doors). Train didn't back up. Station staff took

ages to come down. Two women just sat looking traumatized. No sign of cops or ambulances 15+ minutes. I didn't

particularly feel like hanging around to see what was left, so headed to the buses.

I guess the lesson is that if you want to end things this way, don't expect medical attention for a good half an hour

if it doesn't fully work out..

i could be wrong. but i doubt anyone who jumps infront of a train would be very interested in seeking medical attention. kinda goes against the whole "killing yourself" thing lol

on another note, i had the same thing happen at bondi station less then 2 yrs back. sum bloke sitting casually on d bench waiting for the train then as the train approached the station, he launched himself infront of it

Oh my gosh thats messed up...

A friend works for the railways dealing with the report for exactly this and you would be amazed at how often this happens really. Almost on a daily basis just around Sydney, i seen a guy jump of the overwalk bridge at Lidcombe station directly into the path of an oncoming train about 6 months ago.

I feel sorry for the ppl who have to see that sort of thing :(

Whilst doing some work transfer for EDI rail I heard a ton of stories like that, they told me its not uncommon people waiting on a bend then launch themselves out in front of the them.

Had to clean some kangaroo off the front and underneath of a few Loco's during my 10 weeks there. Big chunks of bloody fur everywhere on the axles.

pretty messed up indeed.

similar thing happened prob 4 years ago at merrylands train station, the idiot tried to cross the tracks by jumping down from the platforms and yeah, got owned. serves him right for trying to cross. cops & ambo's came in prob 10minutes, trains were terminated and had to get a cab/bus/lift home

Man that's crazy... I even had a dream I died last night, that was bad enough!

lol that bullshiet dude......

apparently i read up that in dreams...an individual actually never dies......

and i kinda agree...ive dreamed of dying...EXPERIENCES....but at the end of it.......you just either wake up or just some how get out of the situation.

anyhow dude......sorry to hear......that wouldve been a big mess......

ive seen a Suicide in Newtown Railway Station... an Emo or Gothic guy hung himself on the frames above the railway lines..... not a good site at all....

    • have a look at the other 2 stock rubber strips marked in blue. As you can see, they press against the cooling panel and leave marks. If the cooling unit panel isn’t there, the strip press against nothing therefore have no use. So Nissan was thinking ahead when they manufactured the cars, as they must’ve known people will install the panels in the future. Otherwise think about it, why else would they be there? Therefore that in itself directly infers that cooling panels do something. It might be to stop water and stop some air from going above the cooling panel so more of the air can be redirected between the cooling panel and the front bar towards the condenser and radiator. I tried to take a pic of it while the bonnet was closed but u can’t see shit in the photo
    • @DraftySquash @Duncan i misspoke, or this might be the other way. someone sent me a low res pic of it on It might completely close off the gap in red like in the second pic (second pic has gktech cooling panel on) .The 3 holes are for the plastic rivets used to secure down the front bar. The outer holes on the radiator side go underneath the condenser brackets If thats the case then there’s going to be no air going in through the grill between the bonnet and the bar for the radiator and condenser. Isn’t that bad? I mean less airflow to the radiator and condenser is all I’m saying
    • Interesting. Some of them were tight to lol
