That thing is so tidy, saw the article on it.

Why does it have a GTR badge on it though?

Doesn't it just have a beefed up 2.5?

it's not a GTR badge for starters, It's a 2500R badge (I have no idea how he got it or where he had it made or anything)

and yes, it is just a beefed up RB25 but ... long story short, there is no such thing as a 2500R...

Legend goes that there were 3 cars taken off the production line to sort out a special type of car, like the 400R, but now imagine if the 400R never got put into production... You are left with 3 prototypes that lead to nothing...

That's what Malcolm bought... a pre production prototype. Albeit there is only one left and it's his, but there's no paperwork to backup such claims and how it looks now is definately NOT how it looked when he got his hands on it... it looks way better in my opinion, but some reckon he ruined the heritage (if it exists). He took a stab at how it would have looked and driven, and I think he did a good job!

That's my understanding on the subject :D

V-Cam...shame to mod such a rare car but it must go like stink

fark im so jelous of people that can afford this type of machinery

awesum titanium induction pipping aswell, but yeh it is a shame to mod a car this rare, its like modifying a z-tune

The Z-tune that landed here copped a poxy looking stereo install, from memory....

And a bloody ugly steering wheel.

Its a bit of a let down seeing it in real life (have been at Wakefield for powerplay trackdays where it and other rare cars are in attendance), there's so much hype over it, yes its rare and faster than most (if not all) of the factory GTR's but it seems out of place at a day like that where most of the GTR's there are highly modified (and faster) than the famous ZTune.

From memory, the 400R is RWD?.....if so, that would make a fun Dutton/rally car mated with a 2.8 stroker RB26

Nah, i think you're thinking of the R33 LM GT-R Steveo which was used in LeMans. The huge squarish widebody.
