finally got round to changing the batteries in the remote and it's all sweet now

cheers to everyone for assisting me with this

just a question on remotes, how many types of intelligent keys are there. looking at the post by n15m0, he's got 4 buttons on his remote. mine only has 3 (no alarm button)

Glad you got it working! Apologies for not specifying. The pic I posted was googled from a USDM G35 just to illustrate what an I-key looks like. As far as I'm aware, the JDM V35s only came with 3 buttons, lock, unlock and boot release which is what I have as well.

I have a little problem since yesterday:

When I press unlock, only my passenger door unlocks and the driver's door unlocks when I press then second time. The same happens when I try to lock the car: first the passenger locks and then the driver's locks (and the mirrors fold at the same time, so it knows the car wasn't locked the first time). Does anyone know what the problem might be? I am suspecting poor electrical connection? It is a 2003 Coupe.
