Do I Have Vct

ive heard early model r33's dont have VCT, is there a way to tell if i have it or not on my r33 skyline....

you should have a vct solenoid near the cam gears

Look for the bump on the front of the timing belt cover on the drivers side, VCT. Or the solenoid is just near the first intake runner, hexagonal brass looking thing with a plug on the end of it.

I think I see it in those pics but they are not very clear as you have your Ic piping in the way

Yes its vct. Solenoid is just in front of the first intake runner on the head, with the 2 wire plug coming out of it.

Low revs from memory...

1500-2500(maybe 3500 can't remember) I believe

yeah ifigured that too, my guess was >idle <4600

VCT is off below 1050 RPM

Turns back on once you get above 1050RPM, then turns back off at 4500RPM...

mine is a neo but a data log shows it on from anywhere as low as 1100 rpm and it turns off at 5400

does it hurt to always have it on? would be easier for me to ground the wire instead of getting a rpm switch (for a rb20 ecu install in a rb25)...

if so would it be too much to ask on which wire need to be grounded?

if your not going to use it just leave it unplugged. if normally it is supposed to turn off around 4500rpm, you dont want it all of a sudden being on in the higher rpm.
