Noise On Start Up

My 33 just starting making a sort of screeching noise on start up but, its comming from the back of the motor somehwhere (got the gf to start it while i listened), anyone had the same prob?????

found out its most likely starter motor needs greasing.

GREASING?...how did you grease it?

Mines making that noise too!

Brushes are most likely gone (if the noise is coming from the alternator), usually indicates it's near death. Not hard to put new brushes in with alittle soldering skill

Interested in how you did it as well, mine is making that screeching sound from time to time during start up.

Seems to happen more frequently when the surrounding temperature is cold.
