Gtr Clutch Hks Twin

hey there,

just taken my GTR to a 1/8 mile race, have about 500 bhp -5's etc. have a new HKS twinplate. did about 3 runs, on the 4th run it started slipping late into second and third gear, then on the last runs it didnt slip, was launching around 6500rpm?

any ideas?

oh yeah did a 8.6 with alot of clutch slip, beat a new ltd edition shelby, gt40, corvette, one of those new 6.1 lt hemis, came 3rd beaten by .4 sec by 2 drag cars, valiant, torana SS

2 much torque for it. unless you have the wrong release bearing and carrier combo that is keeping the clutch preloaded.

is there any freeplay on the clutch fork?

There is something not right thats for sure. I have the same clutch and a similar engine combo. Off the limiter 4 runs no probs

hmmm those questions a bit over my head , my mechanic said it may need an adjustment?

dirtgarage mentioned that i might have heated it up on the launch (i was riding a bit around 6000rpm launch) then the next launch was around 7000, didnt ride it and it didnt slip that time?

ideas?

yeah ive heard the,ll slip if you heat them up to much
