how do you do that? all my cloud shots end up boring and improperly exposed

I generally shoot in manual mode so i can adjust all settings individually. For clouds id usually put the aperture up in the higher numbers say F13-F22 to get a good depth of field and then adjust the shutter speed appropriately say up around around 1/320 sec or there about's depending on how bright it is.

I guess it also depends on what camera your using, if you have a point and shoot camera you might not have all those options available.

For the black and white shot the settings i had were ISO 100, 1/320 sec [shutter speed], F13 [Aperture]. The camera used was a Canon 40d with a 50mm F1.8

Hope this helps :D

some i took today.........after my graphics were finished :(

Awesome :P So is there a big demand for graphics on cars?? Just curious..

Beside my love for Skylines, this is my other passion ..... Calibras

Still quite new at photography, so any hints will be appreciated smile.gif

My 2 cents. You dont have to take my seriously.. just my input..

1st shot - Feels like a really quick happy snap without much thinking. Looks like you were trying to cram it all in. Good tip is to move your feet.

2nd shot - nice shot. The main focus is on the car so you have achieved that!!

rolling shots - i think you did a great job ;)

last shot - move your feet once again. If the focus is meant to be on the wing, then shoot the wing only..

Like i said, its just my 2cents.. you dont have to listen to me :)

Very nice man :)

Love both shots eh!!

Thanks for ur opinion siddr20, most welcomed.

just one thing though, when u say move your feet, what are you referring too?

Literally move your feet.

Get a better angle of your shot so to say!!

Eg) that 1st shot. If you moved towards the middle of the three cars you could have got all three in the shot. Or focus on only two of them.

cheers. that 50mm lens really is a great sharp lens.

Indeed.. i still love my 50mm lens..

A quick star trail attempt from tonight.

Really wanted to keep going at it, but i have to wake up early tomorrow morning

The skies are so clear atm!! Wish i had a telescope to point out into the stars!!

Oh and yes you can see some hot pixels :thanks:

Really wanted to take individual photos of couple of seconds each and batch them (rather than one long exposure), but i didn't have time to leave the camera there for an hour and come back.. need sleep!!

Anyways hope you like it
