R34 GTST vs XR6T

0-400m: 14.3 seconds at 162km's/hr

Dont have the stats on the R34..

Consider that the R34 you buy for that money will most likely be a '99 model, and not a new car. Which would you buy, and why?

i would buy R34. The falcon is too big, heavy, common and not as quick to drive (refering to BFYB 03). I don't need/want 4 doors. and even if i did, i'd pay extra and spend a whole lot mroe time, just to find a GT-T in manual. A similar M.Y. chaser is also another car in mind for 4 doors

I think they are quite similar cars, the only difference is the fact that the falcon has four doors. I'm sure in the back the skyline has only a bit less leg room.

It's not as outrageous comparison as say, V8 HSV GTS vs R33 GTST.. (differen class, different ages..)

There's no denying that the 240kw the XR6T has is impressive for stock form.

How much power does the GTT put out stock?

still the falcon ISNOT a sports car and neither is the GT nor a hsv, granted they are nice family cars and hav the looks and power, r34 gTTs do a low 14 so it could keep up with the falcon, they weight just a bit more then a r33 i think (1450kgs??)

A better comparison would be a JZS161 Aristo and a Falcon XR6T?

Now Now guys.. let's not get too carried away. I love my Nissans just as much as you do.

But if you want a Nissan family car the GTT & GTST are it. If you want a Nissan sports car you get a 200sx. If you want a racing performance machine you get a GTR.

The GTT is a Japanese family car with a turbo 6 engine, just as the XR6T's are.

It seems everyone has a different definition of sports car, and family car.

The XR6 Turbo would eat the R34 GTT for breakfast with a basic $999 upgrade package from www.capa.com.au The XR6 has a 700HP turbo....SO much room for modification it's not funny.

i think u mean that the 4 door skylines are family cars if that. dont forget skylines hav also been about performance, unlike the commos and falcon who hav had performace forced on them. i agree there are levels of sports cars but not to the point were a skyline is a family car and a 200sx is a sports car. some people would say that porsche and ferrari make REAL sports cars(compared to japs), some would not

That goes somewhere to the point of whether you can call it a family car. EG: whilst an M5 has 4 doors, i wouldn't really call it a family car - its a sports saloon type of car.

And some would argue that sports cars only have two seats. But that's not the point.. the XR6T is DEFINATELY comparable to the R34 GTT.. same money, same kind of car.. made on the same side of the world.

R34`s aren`t exactly Taxi`s...

Seriously, the Ford weighs nigh on 1800kgs, they just keep getting heavier and heavier, when logic (and our son of rajab Colin Chapman) say otherwise, and Ford and Holden are actually spearheading a totally new class of automobile... the "500kw House"...
