Hi guys,

i want to lower my r34 gtr as low as possible without scrapping the lip or nismo skirts/rear pods - So i want to run the biggest tyre size possible to raise it up before lowering it so that the distance between the guard and tyre is less, if not tucked.

Im running 19x10 +15 offset rims ... will 285/35 have any scrubbing issues at the front? I know a lot of people run 275/30 and a handful of people run 285/30 ... but i just want to get a second opinion on whether or not these size tyres will scrub regardless of what everyone else runs, speedo calibrations etc.

Thanks for the help

cheers

I have slight scrub at front on full lock. Im running 275/30/19. You may have scrub issues I would say with 285s especially if you want the tyres inside the guards. At that ride height you may also break the front difuser off on driveways etc (if u have v spec)

You are not supposed to raise/lower your car by getting different profile tyres. The profile you choose needs to be as close to the factory overall diameter or else your speedo will be compromised. You can choose different widths eg: 255 or 285 + corresponding profiles to reduce scrubbing but you will still need to maintain factory OD.

    • Ayooo, been a while mates. I have a s2 r33 gtst and air stopped coming out of all the top vents.   My car has always made an actuator gear noise when turning the car on but that's a different issue I think?
    • Hi, just checking. Did you get this stuff made by Vspec Performance and at what price roughly? Looking into (sometime later) also getting such a intake kit, and Trust as well as HKS don't make a full set like this anymore.
