nah it all went bad. probably oil pump failed bacause i lost all pressure suddenly but the big end bearing that has spun doesn't sound too bad. hopefully not too much work to fix it....last I heard the motor is already on the floor sounds like brad is pretty motivated so see what happened

I on the other hand intend to celibrate this motor's life by getting shitfaced. It had a brilliant record, 4 wins from 5 starts. It's short life will always be a highlight for me.

Round 3 isn't until 30/may so 6 weeks to sort it....if its not too bad that should be do-able. Any chance of doing OK this season is gone though because I missed 32 points in the enduro this arvo.

Hope it's only as bad as Brad thinks it is mate.

Good luck. Don't let it knock you, you did awesome out there today, killed them all, some great driving!

yep his as serious as they come

Its all out and stripped in the garage.

Has wiped 5 and 6 big end bearings only the upper bearings are really damaged but its enough to have a slight knock.

Will have to pull the oil pump apart tommorrow and see whats going on there and perhaps build a better sump for it. First impressions are usually right and it looks to have surged.

The rest of the engine is mint as it should be.

On the bright side, the impact on points in the overall championship may not actually that bad (however that statement needs to be qualified by the fact that our calculations are already half pissed and by no means offical!).

We look to be sitting about 15 points off the championship lead (a race win is 16 points) so it could have been much worse.

And hopefully we can get the car together and back on as good for the next round.

No pressure Brad

Actually MASSIVE thanks to Brad for his offer to strip it all down & fix stuff- we really appreciate it.

And as you can see he's already got stuck in - now that's commitment!

I got the text last night about the win again, was stoked to hear!

But after reading now, man thats gotta suck, sorry to hear :(

glad to hear Brad's on the job!

Hope its no big hassle and you guys will be there next round to get more winnnnnaaaar's points

We'll be back well before the next round.

Its bad but not as bad as Duncan's previous attempts to break it.

At least everything is where it belongs and it still goes roundy round realativly smoothly

Big congats to holt and howard for taking out the enduro, would not have been an easy feat with 4 cars on the lead lap.

I also noticed that Jacksons Calibra finally cracked the 1 min 1 second around there with a 1.00.58!!!

That is some serious pace!!!

oh you are a nasty piece of work. get off the interweb and back to the garage....I need to enter in the next 2 days so I need to know if it will be ready or season over :P

I've got the water lines back at least....let me know which night we are sealing it up. And you owe me bank details still....pm me.

Dave, are you back for the next round? Brad have you entered? anyone else popped up to have a go, I don't know if Mick has found the thread yet but he was in prod sports in an rx7 at EC with scott helping out

engines done buddy, everything is weighed withing a gram of its life, balanced to perfection and assembled.

Sam ended up drilling out the oil returns, the crank I told you about, few other little things to help with oil control. We line bored the main journals too be sure as well.

Iv'e got one piston back out sitting on the bench and eveything laid out for old mate Mike Hanley to come seal it up. Regardless of the cams being back or not im sealing it up wednesday night. Mike can come back with the cams once the engine is in for all I care. He can seal the sump and head then seal the covers latter.

Once the head is on I can do the turbo's and external oil pick up crap without the cams. It will be going in next saturday and you will have it back by tuesday ready to race.

Im very impressed with the oil pump, its a really nice unit. And wait till you see the sump in person. You bash it against a ripple strip and im coming after you!

Im not aloud to drive for a while (doctors orders) so I have not ended up entering this round. Jay is going to take it out to the SAU oran park day.

The car is back here now so you can suss it all out when you come down during the week. Its getting some suspension surgery over the next two weeks.
