sounds like this guy has already made up his mind to buy this car

regardless of the info giving here . sounds like he half believes the owner and just wants to bargain the car down in price .

a fool and his money is always parted

Justin911's for example, Only asking something like 21k, and it's in great condition with a few nice little extras...A great base to start with.

Yes he's a mate of mine, but if I was in the market for a 33 GTR I wouldn't hesitate in buying his.

If you're after an R33 GTR, here you go:

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/F-...tr-t254223.html

1996, Series 2

86,500km

$21k

excellant

commision payments will be sent out once the deal is made

if **** *** *** doesnt buy my car soon I might have to start thinking about taking some pics for the f/s ad.

Amen to that...I was reading this and looked at the carsales ad...if it was a legit "S-Tune" (although I my opinion there is no such thing in R33 models only the GT-R N1, the super rare Nismo 400R and the even ultra rare Nismo GT-R LM Road Car) then there would be paperwork, build plates and other little things to make it stand out from the pack (as what most people have said here)...The owner will supply 12mths reg - how will it get past RWC without the front indicators (and it looks like that have never been on). Also if it was a legit "S-Tune" or something...you'd keep it in better condition that what it is now (also the veilside style bonnet doesn't do it for me) (one is only assuming...the engine bay is not that appealing)

In terms of hoon laws - the car will be reset to zero strikes as the car will have a new owner (got a mate a vicroads who told me this - basically if the guy buys the car back again say after a few months - vicroads will check it out and see he was a previous owner of the car with strikes on it so it would automatically have what strikes it had on it)...but it still doesn't mean that cops will not notice you.

In my eyes there is a reason why he wants to sell the car. Also with all that work done on it...he may know about cars and mods and stuff...or he's just a regular joe blow who just blows money away for upgrades

I would seriously shop around first...for me a car like this with alot of mods - unless the car is well maintained with receipts and records, there are more trouble than what they are worth...You would be able to fine one a little bit cheaper but also in a better condition (forums here are good start)

that's my .2c

Guys, Justin's GTR looks fine, its just that my previous GTR was about 250kw at the wheels and was slightly more modified than his - therefore I would like a car which is comparable to my last if not faster.

I think that you guys are being way too harsh regarding the purple GTR, although i do see your point and appreciate the input.

I think the owner is just misinformed rather than being dodgey, but thats just my opinion. I am trying to tee up an meeting with him, but he hasnt got back to me yet..

p.s I tried calling Justin and he doesn't pick up his phone anyway.

I am looking to pick up a new GTR asap, so if anyone has one for sale PM Me.

He owns a workshop here in melbourne though so he must know what he is talking about and seems pretty genuine so its hard to tell.

can i take a guess at our mystery seller?

Going from the ad it says seller name is Jim which could be James and I know James from OH Performance also sells a few cars. and when i went to St Albans to look at a modified 32 a couple of years ago it was also to a guy called Jim/James from a carpoint ad, and he was sure good at giving me the sales pitch! but to be fair the car was ok and he took me for a nice test drive but he wanted $18k for it so i said no.....

am i close?

hey if you don't buy this rare S tune R33 I have an R32 Z tune you may be interested in. it doesn't really look like a Z tune on the outside but there is a Z on the build plate in the middle of the drive line code. that's how you know it's a z-tune. Z tune is far better than engine block special S tune anyway I reckon.

Yep he said his name is Jim from OH Performance!!!

I feel like a fool for not seeing this earlier now.. thanks everyone you all saved me a shit load of money and problems.

Its funny because after i confronted him about all the problems and that the VIN didn't match the advertised year he was selling it for he didn't seem so keen to meet up anymore.

God only knows whats wrong with the car, maybe a rebirth, front end crash - either way i am staying away with a 20 ft pole.

someone should report this clown to the ACCC, or better still, buy the car, then sue him for beach of section 52 of the trade practices act, and claim damages under section 87 of the trade practices act, using the difference between that crapola GTR and a S-Tune as the measure of damages

lol @ James... funny guy... Not for the right reasons though.

Hi guys,

I am about to buy this car:

http://carpoint.com.au/used-car/NISSAN/SKY....aspx?State=VIC

The owner says it a nismo built engine, what does this mean? just that it has N1 Turbo's? or that the internals are stronger?

He says the engine block has a different unique code and built by nismo.

Can anyone please shed any light?

read between the lines nismo built engine not a nismo built car , engine built to nismo spec , this ovious means the engine is built to nismo spec , possiblely done some time after the car was made or changed from other car and its a rare colour , you dont see these all the time like the poofie white s and grey colour oviously there is a lot of jelous pepole who critisize other people cars when there s are standard when this one is a gen V-spec in the colour to kill for ! cant say anything good about others look at your self gay lords

    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
    • It's about time I start work on my sun tan. So I knocked up a few parts that will all combine together to become my new power steering reservoir. Now just to produce an abundance of UV and IR rays while melting a heap of bits of alu to become one... Well, that's after I put one more hole in it for the return line to plumb to. It likely won't be this weekend, as Sunday I'm meant to be in doing some last minute stuff to the AMG race car, and the weekend after will be filled with non my Skyline stuff, followed by Bathurst 6 hour. So I don't expect to get to melt metal for at least 3 weeks.   I also managed to stuff up and start cutting the hole for the res to pump pipe on the wrong side of the line... It means instead of the lines being nice and tight against the inner guard, they'll be out off the guard.    The size of it means I should end up with about 1.8L of power steering fluid, and still have space for another half a litre before it reaches the overflow/breather. This is wayyyyyyy more capacity than factory, which should help keep Powersteer oil temps lower, and the design hopefully allows it to prevent any aerated oil being able to makes its way down to the bottom as it'll have a couple of baffles and some hopeful trickery to force air bubbles away from the bottom.
