surely you'd def get stickered for no high level break light? If you can get stickered for an oil leak

I had a mate who gave a cop shit after being pulled over for throwing his thickshake at a stop sign. He had an immaculate EH Holden and we were doing the disco pig in the back seat at night with the lights flashing behind us. The cop didn't like our attitude and we knew that he couldn't get canaried because like I said, the car was immaculate - completely rebuilt from the ground up and fully complied.

Anyway, because we pissed him off, the bastard labelled him for a dusty indicator globe.

They can do whatever they want, whenever they want and you can't do a thing about it. Complaining and lodging grievances with control bodies won't do shit because you have to prove intent.

You could have a fully complied vehicle with permits and they can say that they believe that you swapped the complied part for another and there is nothing that you can do.

It all comes down to the inspector. Again, some are complete and utter arseholes and some are really good blokes. I had great experience with one once (shit, that just sounded gay........) and he told me that if I had any more issues to go back to him.

So as far as getting a lickie for the brake light, it can happen. It just depends on the cop you get at the time. If you want to chance it, you can, and we all do every time we make a modification on our vehicle. It's just part of the game and the risk we take for the car we want to drive.

If it's obviously not working when they pull you over then they might sticker you for it, but if it isn't there at all then they probably won't even think about it. Worth the risk. My mate never had one but decided to put one in to go over the pits just in case. We used double sided sticky tape to tape a cheap $5 red light to the parcel shelf and no one asked a question.

Karl and Ryan, I was using my iPhone at 7am, it's hard to type when your half asleep! :D

wow that story's full on a dusty indicator globe!!! wtf.... it's like, we're not safe anymore from killer canaries regardless :D

edit: sorry :D didn't mean to go off topic

well ill try tidy it up, rip it off, clean both sides, and put some high quality double sided black tape on it like 1 of you suggested. if it stil looks shite ill go from there i spose

thanks for all the input

Do 2 coats of clear then see how it goes. Of of needs more do another one.

As for the eye-level brake light, that looks really out of place. If I was you I'd remove it completely and put it back if you get stickered. A friend of mine has pasted the pits 3+ times without an eye level brake light on her 33.

umm what?

just because someone has "gotten away" with something, doesn't mean everyone will.

either tidy that one up, or buy a new one (can get some that don't look like a dirty great big box attached to the window), it's a lot easier to see when people are braking when the high level comes on, rather than a couple of circles getting a bit brighter.

Keep on topic or I am closing this thread.

No more I had a mate stories.

the advice has been given.

it is an ADR requirement for post 89 cars.

therefore he needs it.

Tidy it up and go from there.
