Removed My Rocker Covers To Find This!

Hey Guys,

While Im waiting for my High-Flow to turn up I thought I would finish some engine painting that I started long ago so I removed my Rocker Covers. When I got them off and was having a good look at them before cleaning and paint prep i found on the underside of the cover on the Intake side near the rear of the engine (Firewall) this burnt oils stain type marking. (See photo below)

Should I worry about this stain or is it just something that comes with age??

Also what is the best way to remove the copper coloured blow by hose thingys on top if each cover?(Very technical I know)

The rocker cover breather fittings are simply pressed in. Just get a screwdriver in the opening and twist it back and forwards while you pull it up.

I wouldn'y worry about it. Do the two rear cam brackets (no. 6 and 7) have the baffles on them?

completely normal, dont worry about it. its just the built up burnt oil over time. to clean them just soak them in some fuel and scrub off.

I tried that when i did mine, thos suckers are in tight! (well you'd hope so ) I gave up and masked them. lol

Cam Covers... pretty sure RB's dont have "rockers"(or rocker arms or what ever it is SR's have)

^^ Get over it. Everyone knows what it means.

I tend to switch between Cam, Tappet, and Rocker covers. Depends on the tongue at the time.

+1 on the screwdriver. just open them up as much as u can.
