Some more trivia...

* The Value of the Hardware on Show was over $3.25 million

* Kyoshi Hans cut/sliced his own Kimono during his demonstration. Cost? Over $400

* Despite being a fine but windy day, some of the local trees got an unexpected watering

* Narelle and her partner with an R34 GT-R got lost & had to call me 2X. First from Hawkesbury Lookout & next from Mt Tomah.

If they PM me, I have a Booby Prize of 1X R34 GT-R Keyring. The condition is that they own up to their sins on this forum first! hehe

hey all, i joined here quite a while ago to have a look at a few things.

i was fortunate enough to be in sydney for this event, all i can say is wow!!

the event was organised fantastically, and the turnout of cars was just wow!! (i cant say that enough)

jsut like to say that it was so nice to spend some time with people who love there cars as much as you guys do.

i have been on some other cruises where the members dont have the time of day for ya.

for the people who spoke to the random guy from Bundaberg, thanks for saying hi  lol

i myself dont own a skyline but was lucky to be able to tag along with my mate mr cali (ZI11AR R32 GTR)

i cant thank him enough for taking me, and having to leave early for the airport.

i am slowly going through my pics, and trying to find some good ones

my photography skills arent great, but i gave it a go.

here is one pic, i will post some more up as i go

straight out, best part was the 2 gtrs dumping it coming out  . so stop ur sulking and get the hell over it.

one more thing someone might like to clear up for me, and i mean no offence by this, but howww did that black gtr win BEST exterior. undoubtedly that silver gtr (FLYT34 plates), or that blue tommi kaira gtr and the white MINES gtr were ALOTTTT more appealing exterior wise.

all in all not a bad event ;)

No offence taken. Black is just too sexy I guess (joke)

The other cars you mentioned are definately Awesome and much better than mine.

A huge "Well Done" to Terry and the other organisers. Great day.

Was good to meet some new people and catch up with others.

Big Thanks to Scott from Insight Motorsports who opened up on Sunday for me to get my car out. I was late, but I got there in the end.

Bakes I realy wanted to meet you man, I realy wanted to put a face to the name but I guess there was just too many people to meet on the day. Oh well it just tells you the number of people that were there. There's always next time. I know your car now though, So next time I spot your car I'll probably know what you look like LOL

Imo, any colour of an R34 GT-R looks hot. Even the most boring colour of silver looks incredibly stunning with a nice set of rims and a bit lowered. White is also boring as batshit but that Mines replica car looks so damn sexy. Red is a love / hate colour i reckon as well, but when I saw a GT-R in that colour, it made me drool because it's so damn rare to find one. And if you match a red R34 with TE37 Time Attack rims (black with red lip), I gotta say it's the best colour combination in the world.

Purple is a colour I would never ever EVER pick for a car. Furthermore, my thoughts of a cameleon coloured car would make me vomit when i see them on the road. But why do I own a Midnight Purple III coloured car? Because it looks incredibly unique on a GT-R, especially when less than 200 were made from factory (thanks for the trivia Dave, my fellow MPIII owner ;))

Finally, black is such a difficult colour to keep clean, even when it's slightly dirty, you can see it a mile away. But when it's kept in an impeccable condition like Bakes car, coupled with some nice dished gold GT-C's, it's a sure show winner. Bakes got my vote as well. Good work mate.

Another worthy mention was the black GT-R with Z tune bonnet and gold LMGT4's. Black matched with bronze is a sure crowd winner as well.

Okay, so let's be honest.

Who's 'SICK' today because of the cold conditions yesterday and didn't go to work.

I get to stay home anyway cause of my leg. But I'm not feeling sick at all. I realy don't know why people are complaining about the cold wethear I mean u knew it was goin to be realy cold lol. All you had to do was bring out your winter clothes lol

if the video offends anyone please notify me and i'll remove it !

oh and quick note to Terry! theres comment in the video about me being like you when i'm 60 haha

hope your not offended but i admire the fact that you are 60 and drive a r34 gtr!

Thanks so much for taking the clip Benny! Looks awesome with all the GTR's leaving (except for my car as I was the first one that left and you missed it! lol).

That's GOLD, literally

ahahha Terry!! call me slow (not because i have a GT  ) but i only got the joke after your comment Euge:P

and Laith, how long till your foot heals up??

Thanks for organizing the cruise, we had a bit of fun and it was good to be out and see so many nice cars on the day. Shame about the weather though .. I froze my ass off after "volunteering" my jacket to a silly girl that came in very light clothing .. luckily we still had a blanket to wrap ourselves in.

Note to self - bring extra warm clothing whenver going to the mountains next time, even if its sunny.

Denis I think you should have offord that girl a hug instead to warm her up LOL

    • I think my main complaint with your idea is that there is a veneer of idealism spread across it. You want the simple numbers to make it easier, but all they will do is make it easier for someone to come to the wrong conclusion because the fine details will kick them in the nuts. As it is right now, the tiny bit of arithmetic is NOT the obstacle to understanding what will fit and what will not fit. The reality of trying it is what determines whether it will fit. If you had a "standard rule" that R34 GTT guards have that magic 100mm space from the hub face to whichever side you were worried about, and someone said "excellent, this wheel is only 98mm in that direction, I'll just go spend $4k on them and jam them on my sick ride".....they would just as likely find out that the "standard rule" is not true because the rear subframe is offset to one side by a fairly typical (but variable) 8mm on their car and they only have 92mm on one side and 108 on the other.
    • It still combines inches with mm, especially when you have .5 inches involved, and mm and inches that can go in either direction. This would give a clear idea on both sides of the rim, right away, with no arithmetic. Even better if somebody gives you the dimensions of the arch of multiple cars. i.e GTR may be 125mm, a A80 Supra may be 117mm, or something along those lines. Yes, you can 'know' that going from a 10in rim to a 10.5in rim with the same offset moves both sides about 6mm, but you still have to 'know' that and do the math. Often it's combined. People are going from 9.5 +27 to 10.5 +15. You may do the math to know it, but if it was going from (I had to go look it up to be sure) 241mm/2 - 27 - 93.5mm from the center line to (more math) 266/2 - 15 (118mm) from the center line. Versus 93mm vs 118mm. It's right there. If you know you have a GTT with 100mm guards you can see right away that one is close to flush and the other absolutely won't work. And when someone says "Oh the GTR is 120mm" suddenly you see that the 10.5 +15 is about perfect. (or you go and buy rims with approximately 118mm outward guard space) I think it's safe to say that given one of the most common questions in all modified cars is "How do offsets work" and "How do I know if wheels will fit on my car" that this would be much simpler... Of course, nothing will really change and nobody is going to remanufacture wheels and ditch inches and offset based on this conversation :p We'll all go "18x9+30 will line up pretty close to the guards for a R34 GTT (84mm)" but 'pretty close' is still not really defined (it is now!) and if you really care you still have go measure. Yes it depends on camber and height and dynamic movement, but so do all wheels no matter what you measure it for.
    • But offsets are simple numbers. 8" wheel? Call it 200mm, near enough. +35 offset? OK, so that means the hub face is that far out from the wheel centreline. Which is 2s of mental arithmetic to get to 65mm to outer edge and 135mm to inner. It's hardly any more effort for any other wheel width or offset. As I said, I just close my eyes and can see a picture of the wheel when given the width and offset. That wouldn't help me trust that a marginal fitment would actually go in and clear everything, any more than the supposedly simple numbers you're talking about. I dunno. Maybe I just automatically do numbers.
    • Sure! But you at least have simple numbers instead of 8.5 inches +/mm, relative to your current rims you do maths with as well, and/or compare with OEM diameter, which you also need to know/research/confirm..
