It's looking very good...

That avenue will be looking pretty nice in a few weeks when the trees start to change colour.

Hehe Dirty Car eh? Well Mick, we'd like to think that you fellahs from the Central Coast, from the ACT and even poss TAS will not suffer from judging just because you've had to travel long distances. Thanks in advance for your support tho'. It doesn't go unnoticed!!!

We'd also like to think that the signature at the bottom of each formal award certificate gives the owner some cred should/when he ever sells his car. And should you sell that car, you might not want to hand over the award certificate with it!!!

Updated long-term weather forecast looks like we will just miss out on the rain that will hit during that week. :P

Only 14 days to go... See you all at the Penrith Regatta Centre. This is shaping up to be a huge event.

Good News!

moneypit is IN (earlier post) R34 GT-R = Group#1 :P

Turbo Piston is IN (earlier post) disguised in an R34 = Group#2

Delta Force is IN R34 GT-T = Group#2

FloydWestwood is IN with his lovely black R33 GTS-T = Group#3

TaKz is IN with another great R33 GTS-T = Group#3

This spot is very nice!

Here is a pic I took of my car around the same time, last year:

Nice Pic Dave. It will look awesome with all the R34s (and the rest) lined up along there.

Everyone should bring their cameras :P What we might do is set up a flickr group photo pool that everyone can submit to after the event, to keep all the awesome photos in one spot so that everyone can access them (obviously HPI will be doing their own photos as well).

Guys if you haven't yet checked it out, the final Awards Categories that apply for the event are posted in a separate "Awards Categories" thread. Prizes will be given out to the winners as well as some great certificates that are to be signed by our 90s hero Mark Skaife (what ever happened to that bloke after winning the series in an R32 GT-R??) :P

Well the last 3 paragraphs of CARS GUIDE Cover Story to-day cover the 10th Anniversary of the R34 GT-R Cruise and Beyond Blue as the beneficiary.

The start point is at Penrith (not P'matta).

Cool...

Skylines Australia is the make-up up the 4th last paragraph.

Cool...

after much co-ersion from raf and shehan i will be attending this day in my lowly R33 GTSt and having a good old time and a nice big drool over all the pretty liners that will be turning up lolz.....

RAF FEEL FREE TO DROP ME A LINE ANYTIME TO ORGANISE A MEET UP IN THE MORNING SO WE CAN CRUISE UP TO THE REGATTA CENTRE TOGETHER :stupid:

You might feel Dan that your R33 GTS-T is no comparison to the R34 GT-R. "Lowly" ain't the word hehe.

40 years ago, I felt the same as my new Datsun 1600 got passed by a Phase 3 GTHO.

But at least the experience whet my appetite > I put on a decent side-draught WEBER carbie + wide chromies with Kleber rubber > Used self-hypnosis to believe I had an XU-1 and beat that S.O.B. HO around some twisties > then Brockie did it next! :D

It'll be good to see you Daniel in Group #3 :stupid:

went to mt wilson with terry and shehan today...things are looking good at the moment

hope you guys are as excited as we are!!

Just a note to everyone that there is no food provided at regatta centre, so please come with some snacks and drinks for the cruise. There are two cafe's near our destination but to avoid a long queue (its only a small cottage cafe) you can always pick stuff up from service stations on your way to the regatta.

I expect Autobarn to be sold out of Meguiars and Autoglym products as a result of you all rushing to shine your babies up!!

    • You'd be better off digging a pit and standing under it to shoot it.
    • The easiest way would to be ignore the oscilloscope, grab a multimeter, and make sure all the main connections are right. An oscilloscope will give 99.9% of even technicians so much grief, as they have no idea what things should even look like on an oscilloscope. Which is also even more likely for someone who's first ever major work on a car is this If the battery volts are dropping down so low, the LDV will reboot the ECU, when it does so, it will drop out the start circuit. If this is occuring, the battery voltage should also come back up. Give it a few tests, even simple ones like when you're attempting to crank it, measure voltage from the engine block, to the negative terminal. You might find you've got really bad connections somewhere. My guess is the "new" motor has something like a shit starter motor, at which point, you can swap the starter motor from the old motor, to the new motor. Before I did any of the above though, I'd 100% confirm the battery in the vehicle. Most jumper packs are absolutely useless, especially if a battery has a bad cell for example. Also the new modern "jump packs" if you don't know what you're doing with them, you won't even get them into high current stage. So go back to basics, check the battery, especially with a known good one as a replacement test. Check ALL the wiring, this includes where they're bolted onto the battery, and bolted onto the starter motor. Check all the earth straps are on. Measure your resistances across your earth straps. A good check here is to measure voltage across the earth straps while you're trying to crank it. If you're seeing voltage, you've got high resistance joints! Oh, and once you've done the above, check the battery over again.
    • For most rotisseries, as Duncan has mentioned, you really don't want a full car on it, you want a stripped shell. And imagine how many more weeks THAT is going to add to working on the car...
