Cruise was awesome fun.

Everyone leaving the first point got a bit silly. One thing to take off ahrd but the guys doing the "wankers yank" to make the car wheelspin because they dont have enough power is retarded. Wont be showing that in the DVD.

I filmed the drive up with Dom ( blue Autostyle GTR) Jerry ( Mines GTR) and Ferds ( BBM T88 GTR) and i must say it will make for some awesome footage.

The feature on the cruise will be in Motive DVD issue 003 which comes out in Sep. Motive 003 is going to be a GTR special too.

A huge "Well Done" to Terry and the other organisers. Great day.

Was good to meet some new people and catch up with others.

Big Thanks to Scott from Insight Motorsports who opened up on Sunday for me to get my car out. I was late, but I got there in the end.

wasn't that when you were referring to it as "Captain Hook"

:(

You Serious,

i think i saw atleast 30 cars punching it here and there , whoever it was he wasnt the only person .

+1 For launching , everybody was jeed up

Terry it was a good cruise good stuff champ .....

like i said we were late so we missed the main group, and the 2nd group and the launching.. im all for the launching from the first meet point as it was there was noone around... i didnt see the main group... but there was a group that came through the round about heading towards the first meet point, chucked a u turn down the road and all took off again.. was about 6 or 7 gtrs and there were loads of people at that roundabout.. i just wasnt very impressed as there was no need for that particular car to do what they did at that point.. they did a bit more than tromp it.

Hey champ if was anything is was your mates initating what u called the "wankers yank" the 1st couple of cars took off hard then the rest were LAUNCHING their vechiles.......

So i guess the rest of the group just followed

"Awesome footage " meaning driving very hard is that what u mean????

If u say that then its no different the ur "wankers yank"

I dont appreciate when u pick and choose what it acceptable driving and what is not!!!

I personally think its alot easier to lose control of a vechile at HIGH speed on road they aint familiar with then lauching a car champ!

Maybe you should have told how u feel at the time cause there were ALOT of cars launching their cars with ur mates Dom and all them initating it!!

Thanks for ur imput Andrew!!! :(

I'm looking forward to some good pics of

CARS + Yuka-san

CARS + NISSAN Sign (2X up already thanx)

CARS + Kyoshi Hans & Sensei Dave swords drawn over Bakes' Award-winning car on The Avenue in filtered sunlight, under autumn leaves :(

GTR32X nevermind mate.

We are thankful to Andrew that he was there to capture the event on film. If he decides to exclude footage that may seem to tarnish the event's overall success and purpose, then I'd think many, if not most, will agree to that.

+1. That should look brilliant!

+1,

There is no doubt it is absolutely awesome to see (and hear) the R34 GT-Rs launching hard... But there's a time and place to do it; the Regatta centre was a bit iffy for us organisers as, the way I see it, they were respectful enough to let us park there (in a restricted parking area) without causing us grief, so we should respect the area in return (even if it was a quiet street). On public roads in amongst other cars (i.e. roundabout with other cars) is pretty stupid.

Let's try not to feed the Today Tonight stereotype, they have enough bad material already.

Kudos to everyone who behaved themselves and drove carefully around the Avenue at Mt Wilson. It was a bit more cramped than we had hoped but I think the cars looked fantastic under those trees. :( Hope everyone had a good time.

Aha one of my DR30...cheers! The old girl is 25 this year...makes the R34's mere babies! ;-)

Thanks guys for a great day, thoroughly enjoyable both on the cruise and at the show!

Fantastic day, thanks to everyone for coming along, and to those who made the extra effort to vote.

Here are a few pics that I took (I've taken quite a few that are similar to the great ones above (but not as good) so here are some others...

It was in awesome condition especially for its vintage Ravenoak! Sorry if I was holding you up on the cruise but I had to keep the group nice and tight! :(

    • Reasonably hard, although I haven't run it with the new Endless setup yet. The old brakes were F50's on 335mm rotors and the car did a 1:40.6 at Phillip Island which is a reasonable time, I'm seeing high 600s on the temperature paint. A guy I know ran the Endless fluid at WTAC without issues and he was doing 1:33's I think (Evo) with a 355/332 setup. I don't get out to the track as much as I'd like but we put the car on the hoist and spanner check every bolt and re-paint mark everything, bleed the brakes, change the fuel, check the coolant system and re-bleed blah blah blah before every event. Motorsport is expensive, RB's are expensive so a couple of hours before an event is time well spent. It's also a net time saving because if you can keep your RB from self destructing it saves you time in the long term!
    • Welcome Alice......hope you have a bit more luck from here on! What was done in the build?
    • Hello! I'm new here, I have an R33 GTST that is currently being finished up! Last year was pretty rough, blew two stock turbos so I decided to build the car. Has been down since November, but I get it back next weekend!
    • Hello, I believe my car was imported to America in the 2000s by Kaizo Industries. Would anyone be able to help me find more info on them? I've only found all the basic stuff like that paul walker bnr34, them being shutdown by feds, just stuff like that. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    • I am using Motec M150.  I am not working on the car myself actually.  My workshop is giving all these info, they are quite reputable in the industry and are very familiar with Motec and RBs and have done a few big setups with VCam and single turbo on RBs.  In fact, they built and tuned my engine from day one.  But they are stumped with my engine at the moment and cannot work out how come the compression is so low with the VCam. They told me that they have now swapped in some Kelford cams (without the VCam) and can achieve around 130psi compression and the low end torque is better, but now the engine is doughy as.  It boosts and peaks at more than 1000rpm slower, with twin HKS GTIII RS, it doesn't get full boost until over 5000rpm. I have always thought the VCam was a bit disappointing at the low rpm. To a point I had to ride the clutch a fair bit to get up a small hill from stand still.  That was when I had a clutch.  Now changing to a 8HP, I don't have that luxury and this problem has become a major issue. I am beginning to think the VCam never work since the day it was installed.  Maybe it was just sitting at the most advanced point, that is why it went good at top end but very ordinary at the bottom.  Therefore, with the help of the Holinger 6 speed and paddle shift, as long as it was moving, it drove pretty good.
