Just wondering about my mags.

When we wash them and just spray on that McGuires(sp?) wheel polish stuff.. They come up really shiny but in spots have little .. blemishes I suppose you could call them.

Where can you get your mags cleaned... IF you can clean them with something to make them look like new. Haven't tried polishing them yet with a rub on polish ... I will do it one day.

But yeah.. Are there any places that "rejuvenate" mags to make them look like new??

Here is a pic of them. You can see the marks in the picture...

i aint sure is this will help much, but when i have found to work the best, is ya know those cloth nappies, those nice white ones???

i wet those, and use a bit of the soap stuff you wash car with.. give them a real good wash.. then use that polish wheel stuff...

what it might be, is where you have sprayed on tire blackener or armor all its hit the wheel.. so you use the rag with a hand to protect the wheel from getting sprayed when you sprya tires.

Its kinda hard to tell from the pic what kinda finish they are. Are they painted and clear coated or are they polished alloy ?

If they are polished alloy use a metal cut'n'polish type cream to clean them.

Or if they are painted and clear coated what may have happened is the clear coat has slightly peeled/cracked and let air in and oxidization has caused the blemishes, it will be kinda noticable cos the blemish will be under the clear coat and no amount of washing will get rid of it. You could cut and polish it till the clear coat is removed, but if this is what happened its better to take it to a mag specialist to fix it.

You should have mag repairers round your area somewhere.

    • Yeah was thinking that. I've had the car go lower idle possibly around 650rpm every once in a long time after pouring fuel and would sound quite rough like a misfire, almost like it's shit fuel or something but who knows.

Great event last year and hoping for the same this year.    I've emailed them to ask to set a location aside for the Stageas for the show and shine - they are happy to do so if we can get them numbers, I'm happy to keep track of that. Entering as Nismo category.    I'll be road tripping up from Melbourne, would be cool to convey if people are interested, maybe there is SAU convoys from each capital?
