How Can I Tell If My Gtr Has Bigger Cams?

Hi guys

ever since i bought my car (r33 gtr) it has always idle'd like it has larger cams. I thought it's just the way gtr's idle.

few of my friends (some who have owned gtr's too) tell me i have upgraded cams due to the sound on idle. Ive changed afm's as i thought there was a problem, but nope still idles like this.

Ive also just realised i had a bigger hks fmic. And my car also ran a 12.6 @ 110mph with only full exhaust and 1-2 psi more boost.

Other than idle how would i be able to tell?

pull rocker cover, most "brand" name cams are embossed.

what vacume does it have at idle? not on your stock guage but your aftermarket guage..

Did the previous owner give you a list of stuff done to it before you bought it?

it was imported, so dont know.

when it came from japan it had a catback exhaust, with hiflow cat, hks cooler, and had an anodised brake bracket.

i only have a stock gauge. if ur refering to the centre gauges its half way down on the 2nd bottom line..

car has always idled at 900-1000 rpm always.even when i first bought it. no vac leaks either

just unbolt the cam covers and look, easiest way to be sure..

ok, compare that to a friends one.. if yours has less then its a posibility.. they usualy come with cam gears from japan aswell.
