Yes, prices are very, very high for most strokers.

But, you get quite a lot in return for your money.

Id be happy paying 10k AUD for a stroker (HKS step 3 anyone?), just not USD with the exchange rate as it is

If you're getting a good stroker, may aswel get the best...
