does the word obsessed mean anyting :( i wouldnt be an accountant if i wasnt under the impression it was the only way i could afford a gtr.

basicly i did f all for about 2 years once i started working and my bro kinda stole 7k off me for over a year during that time which prevented me the option of settling for a gts. best 23rd b day pressie of all time when i got the car though me thinks

yeah and the odd old lady here and there :D they need loving to.

also note i drove a rusty dato for 5years, all or nothing is my style :P

and there it is i have helped turn this into a wasteland

Mine was/is My first car. Bought a LH torana... Stock, white, brown interior, 6cyl 173 auto.

My dad, grandpa and i did it up over the next 2 years. Did everything ourselves, didnt just write a check and get it done.

We sprayed it, re did the interior, put in a V8 , manual, everything.

The only thing we had to get done was the exhaust.

And then ive entered in a few shows and won a few awards for it. Which really was an achevment as my car cost only a few thousand to do and was beating out cars with proffesional this, profesional that and many more thousands spent on it then mine.

And not only that was good time to get together with my dad and my grandpa.. Was a good time...

In one of the pics shows an FJ. They also restored that one to...

great story Adam....nothing beats a family project, just a shame my dad wasn't interested in anything but fishing, lol

When I owned my old 32, I bought it DEAD STOCK from Japan.

Was Midnight Blue (TH1) auto, turbo aero kitted 32. There wasn't a single thing done to this car. Even came with the standard Nissan exhaust system.

By the time I sold the car, it had some much work done to it. Manual trans, repainted in Velocity blue, kitted, tuff rims, GTR interior and enough power mods to keep me happy and out of to much trouble.

Looking at pictures of the 32 before and after, and I can see why my parents where saying I was spending way to much money on the car. But at least I can say I built the car not bought it and i made it my own, how I'd wanted it. Deffenetly one of the cleanest 32's getting around and I miss it :P

buying my first car, mk2 rs2000 2 door and from 16 putting in the hard yards with the old man in the shed rebuilding it, caused alotta anger because simply i swear the car was cursed, fix one thing, then sumthin else would break.... but i stuck it out, put in blood sweat and tears and alotta $$$ and 4 years later finished it, got featured in international magazine Classic Ford and won the dyno day hosted by the magazine....enjoyed it and sold it off.

then buying my GTR cash at age 20 last year, very proud feeling to own something of that value at that age

i think mine is/was getting my 32 to the place it is now.. spending nights helping ryan drop my rb25 in (bot that i did much) but god i learnt so much...

going from not knowing anything to knowing how to do turbo swaps, injectors, AFM, coilpacks etc..

and mixing with alot of great guys and gals on the forums..

i really do surprise myself sometimes!!

scared the crap outa me when i 1st got my dato and the headgasket blew, thought it was the start of a simmilar patern. lucky datos are tuff :P

haha yeh it was beyond a joke, every week there was a new bang/rattle/noise but it was still great fun driving it round having atleast 5 people stop to talk to you about it every day, so many people have has a escort at one point or another!

i have to say.....getting the 34 to begin with i waited 6 years before i got her.......nearly brought a r33 a couple of times but they day i saw a 34 was the day i knew i wanted that model.

to be honest i never though id spend the money i have.......was just gonna do exhaust, rims and body kit that was it

.........then i did more hahaha

ive learnt alot , Sept this year will be 3 years that i have had her.......and i really wouldnt want it any other way.

But the greatest achievement would have been when we won back to back best vinyl graphics for 07/08 adelaide autosalon.....

but the greatest achievement that will take over that will be when she gets blown ;)

    • I should note too as I have all 4 wheel speed inputs to the emtron I now have the emtron controlling the attessa solenoid for 4wd/traction and launch control strategies.
    • It works quite well with the adjustibility within each of the programs of the turbolamik. Essentially p1 is drive and lockup comes on like a normal driver.  But in program 7 I have customised it to not request the lockup clutch to engage until something like 6500/7 when slip was the lowest.
    • Yep, I like that. The tags are only on the first post of a thread and we don't get huge numbers of new threads. Also, I plan to add some more report types and we could have a member report type like 'review tags' then members could flag if they thought a topic wasn't tagged correctly.  No way man, I dig the input. Thanks!
    • It's a valid thought. There's not exactly that functionality already (when creating a thread) - that's where the OP can use/create any tag they want. We'd have to come up with a way for the user to request their tags get reviewed or something. Otherwise the mods would have to review every new post's tags (for those that have them, anyway). There's kind of that functionality already exists to some extent, post facto of starting the thread, where the OP or any other user could report the post to admins, and request that tags get reviewed. We could do this already, and any user could already have made such a request. To make it a part of the forum proper, it would require an initial and an ongoing education programme, so that people know that it's a thing. OP based tagging/request for review would also require at least some (probably most) of the user base to be told that it's a thing they can do. Both of these things probably wouldn't spread too far and/or get used very much. If it was the standard approach on a lot of different sites, then it might do, because people would be used to it. Prank's approach to this differs from my original thought, by leaning into tagging. Which is fine - it's possibly better than what I originally suggested. In fact, I just went to the R32 GTR wiring diagram thread and added tags, including "Library". That's probably a good way to use tags and the idea of a library. We just have to drag together an (organised!) index of threads or posts that have that tag. I have yet to do any of my own follow up by pursuing worthy threads and posts and reporting/marking/tagging them for the library, such as the @Sydneykid stuff I was talking about, and possibly any amount of @Lithium 's and others' posts. At least if I tag them Library, we'll have a start.   Back to @Wazmond's idea as it relates to @PranK's, we might have some sort of a list of tags that are already used to scrape for this library. I'm not entirely sure how that would be presented or used, particularly if it got long. But it's yet another idea!   cheers
    • Just a thought, but instead of restricting, is it possible to do like an "up for review" kind of thing? Where say someone who's not an admin/mod tags, it would require approval for it to actually tag? User posts with a 'tag' > Admin/Mod Reviews > Approves tag > Tag now exists kinda thing? Just came across this thread so Im not too sure if Im straying off topic or not but forgive me if i am...
