Still a pretty phat wagon tho :P

I wouldn't complain if my M35 looked like that except in wine red, I'm not a fan of white cars personally.

My R31 is white and it's always dirty!

I spoke to Kid's Heart (the company that put this Stagea together) about this already...no plans to release any of the parts at all. They basically said they're selling the car as is. I really like the concept, Masa had it right with the C34/R34 conversions....but I think the R35 front on the M35 needs more than what Kid's Heart did to it to look right.

Although I'm in the middle of getting my R34 widebody inventory produced, I like the idea of M35 Stagea GT-R Conversion Aero and I'm already pushing the idea here at the office. I'm damn sure I can make it look good...just one question...is the M35 Stagea available outside of Japan and Australia?

im just curious but all yo guys with m35's seem to have the 2.5l v6 turbo, anyone got one with the 3.6l NA v6 at all? or better yet one that has been twin turbo'd or sumthin ?

sorry off topic i know

The 3.5L NA version isn't available here for compliance or something like that. I'm not sure on the full details but there are a couple threads on here that detail it all. It makes no sense since that same engine is available here in several other nissans, but who said australia's import laws etc ever made sense?

There's a lot of guys here who would want one of those, but I've yet to hear of any being legally complianced and registered in aus.

As an aside, the 3.5L NA might have slightly more torque around 2000rpm but certainly comparing max power, the 2.5L turbo version is both more powerful and has much more torque. Plus you get to hear the turbo spool up every time you "take off". There are pros and cons with either though...its not all about peak power. For a daily drive family wagon the NA version may make more sense? who knows?

anyways, offtopic - hopefully I answered your Question?

3.5 N/A is available for compliance, but since the M35 has been such a "slow mover", there are no workshops that want to put the $30k+ into getting it.

I for one would prefer the 3.5 as it's parts (and MODS) are the same as V35/350z... Can you imagine an M35 with a 450+kw turbo kit from the 350z? Mmmmm all that power with AWD grip and a "prestige" cruising wagon....

as one Stimpson J. Cat would say "I, have a dream...."

If I win lotto, I will pay for one to be done (thus open the gates for others). That is for sure!

I love 'em, but wouldn't buy one.

Would prefer to pay off mortgage + 100k into house "improvements", buy wife an Evo and put ~80k into transforming my 250t into a 450TT with the money I would spend buying a Murcielago.

....heh, anyone would think that I have played the "if I won lotto" game a couple of times....

  • 2 months later...

Just been looking at the Kid's Heart site and it seems that they are selling their lovely "staGT-R" as they call it.

It is a 250RX, RWD, N/A (yes, that means the VQ25DD engine).

Asking price as of late April?

A wholly reasonable *cough*bullshit*cough* 190 Million yen (that's $2.54m AUD!!)

They are looking at putting a cosmetic conversion kit together and, when asked, feel that an R35 GT-R drivetrain transplant into their staGT-R is "impossible".

Dunno know about you guys, but if I was dropping $2.5m on a Stagea, it would want to have a slightly nicer R35 conversion (A Pillars!!) and highly modified, but reliable R35 running gear.

    • Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers
    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
