Hi all,

After running some extra boost and bigger wheels on my 34 for a few months (185rwKw) I'm starting to get a lot less wheelspin and a lot more clutch slip from the standard setup. It also stinks whenever i drive it to work / home in peak hour traffic (whether i push it or not).

I had an Extreme HD clutch of some kind (can't remember the exact one) in my old R32 and was very happy with it.

Just though i would ask here if anyone had any suggestions for the best clutch / flywheel setup - the car will be a daily driver but i'll be doing turbo and ECU later this year and planning on around 250rwKw so it needs to hold that, without being a pig to drive in traffic.

Also if anyone has any suggestions for workshops in Adelaide to carry out the work that would be great.

Cheers.

Now you've done it..... Here comes all of the opinions! This may confuse you more than help you :)

My choice was a 9 puck ceramic copper clutch plate with a 1200kg clamp force pressure plate.

I'm also using a lightened CM flywheel.

I didn't like the organic clutch as it wore too quick for my style of driving.

It's excellent for road and competition applications.

After showing two other people my setup, they then purchased the same clutch/pressure plate combination. One was using a stock clutch, the other an Exedy organic.

I guess the question also is how much you wanna spend.

My organic is only slightly heavier than standard and VERY VERY streetable (still haver the standard flywheel in). Paid a bit over a $grand about a year ago, had it done at Japanese Motorsport on Magill road.... not sure where abouts in adelaide you are...

Yeah i live in the NE suburbs, Jap Motorsport is on the way to work and right near GF's house.

Now i think about it, i've seen your car around the area, think we met in the BP on portrush rd one day and said "nice car" to each other... :-)

I might head to Jap Motorsport and ask them what they recommend... looking to do flywheel and clutch (been reading the chromoly fw's will make the clutch last longer...?) - but hoping to not spend over $1500 if possible...!

Yep that was me! :)

Maybe give them a buzz and see what they'd recommend...

Oh, and apparently the Xtreme HD Organic uses the same pressure plate as the 34 GTR's so pretty good clamping pressure also.

Have done ECU (GReddy Emanage Ultimate), Fuel Pump, Injectors, Z32 AFM, and upped the boost to 12psi... still stock turbo though. Not sure if the ECU was directly responsible for all the increase in power as had everything put on at the same time, but was pretty happy with that figure seeing as i haven't really done anything major to it. Had it tuned at Boostworx, really good guys there. Looking at a turbo upgrade in the near future....
