Hello All,

Well my mate was going to give me an Apexi Power FC but after checking the site it is clear that they are not too compatible for Stags. He just imported an Evo FQ320 the greedy bugger. . .

http://paulr33.skylinesaustralia.com/docs/...powerfc-faq.htm

So my question to you learned Turbophiles is:

What other complete units are there for the M35 that I can get. .

Jules

Ben at North Shore Prestige said the a Haltec system has been tested on the M35. I think he mentioned a figure around the $2k mark.

Pretty sure it was done Unique Autosport in Brookvale.

Cheers

Yeah I spoke to Herman at Envy Imports. . . they do a small basic one for around a grand, then the $2k one and the $3500 one. They didnt have any figures to show regarding improvements etc. . so I didnt get one but happy to review once some real stats are available.

Was told to expect at least 10% gains in power fuel economy etc etc. . .but I am a "Must see figures" man or someone swears by it motto. .

Yeah, I have spoken to Herman as well.

They were using the 350z standalone ECU as a piggyback initially.

Cheap one is the "Interceptor", medium is the e11 (I think) and the expensive is the 350z Platinum.

He stated that figures were roughly 10% increase in economy & 20% increase in power...

I have also been told that I can expect at least that with an eManage Ultimate.... Fair bit cheaper too!

Waiting on a response regarding the Vipec as it is stand alone also.

Will let you know.

thats the place.

I know Jetwreck has planned to do the Haltec, he is expecting around 240kw from memory.

But he is also highflowing the turbo as this is now a necessity. We should know some results on the turbo in the next few weeks.

The basis one sounds like what I would like to do. small performance gain fuel economy gain.

The next few weeks will yield some interesting results.

I'm all for high flowing the turbo in my M35 too, probably won't be looking at it for a few months though.

I was talking to Unique Auto Sports about it the other day, they said Engine Management would be a problem ;)

When someone finds a good, cost effective solution be sure to let me know :)

i think your best bet is the Vipec/Link computer. Have a read of Skidkid's successfull installation in his S2 auto (and dirt garage's OTT praise). The Vipec has the computing power to do it all and it is a current model still being improved and supported (unlike the PFC). The main thing is to find a competent installer (as skid kid seems to have found). A new computer will not on its own necessarily produce a lot of power but it will get the maximum from any mods. It will very likely produce some economy though because Nissan's standard settings are conservatively rich.

since an aftermarket ECU install is really only as good as the tune, i'd recommend sussing out local tuners first and seeing what ECU they prefer to install and tune. Unless you like limping/towing your car across Sydney to get something looked at one day if there is a problem/question you have.

Well, I have just been talking to Trent from Status Tuning down here in Melbourne's South East.

Since I have an eManage Ultimate I have been talking to him about which way to go.

Here was his last reply (quick sum up)

"To be honest i reckon you could get 95% of the result with the emanage ultimate (get the optional map sensor and harness) the Vipec/Link install will require far more work to get right or even to the same point as the emanage. The auto control is the trickiest part and the emanage seems to integrate pretty seemlessly. What size turbo are you looking at? and eventual target AWKW? as these two really determine the best ecu direction. say 250 as a max and i would go the emanage route, say 300 and up and the extra work with the LINK/VIPEC would pay off in the long run"

Hope that helps guys.

If you need to go the eManage Ultimate, there are usually a few floating around in the For Sale threads.

I was looking at getting the OBD II software to monitor the functions of the car to get a better understanding of what the car is doing.

looks to be pretty cool software with the ability to monitor all sorts of functions under the bonnet. I can see that it works on the V35 and using a bit of "leaping faith" I would think it should also work on the M35.

Understanding how and why this car performs ma help getting the right tune.

Could be wrong though.

Where are you getting this software from & how much?

Does it plug into the Consult connection?

Yes, plugs into the Consult connection. Cost is max $215 for the full version with data loger.
