I have just purchased a 1988 Nissan 300ZX auto and I am thinking of pulling the engine (whats left of it) out and putting in a non injected 350 Chev V8.

Is there anything I need to know for these conversions??

Can I use the original auto??

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Shaun.

if you have to ask if you can use the original auto... its probly not a conversion you should be undertaking yourself......

you want to put a non injected 350 into a 300zx..... its probly not a conversion you should be undertaking at all.....

if you have to do it, everything will have to be custom (mounts/crossmembers/some wiring/everythign in general).

get the biggest fistful of cash you can, find some-one smart, exchnge cash for smart, do a skid in your new 350 300

PS - is your real name shaun perry? if it is, i like the no bullshit approach with your screen name

Forget the V8. Bolt in a VG30DET (Cima, Leopard, etc). These engines produce 190kW bog stock with no intercooler, plus they are dirt cheap to buy. Z31's for Oz either came with VG30E or VG30ET so putting in a VG30DET is relatively simple and it will bolt straight to the original auto (which probably won't last long behind a DET or a V8).

Either way, VG30E/T engines in Z31 are best tossed as they are prone to spontaneously combust......and I don't mean internally
