True, its not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.

Eheh, well lucky for me I heard this guy is a terrible driver. I had a S6 RX7 that i drove with stupid amounts of boost and managed to get pretty good at keeping it straight. This GTR is heaps easier to drive in comparison.

this thread is so sh!t, who cares who has a faster car, there both different cars and both have the pros and cons. if he wants to say his is quicker let him. there will always be someone quicker then u and him. some close this thread it useless.

Yeah! I agree with this guy

the Fg range of falcons seem to be running very good times. Motor mags recording 13.1-13.3sec for the xr6 turbo and GCe6t (cant rememebr the exact name). Private drag times in the high 12s.

Fg F6 seems to have ingear acceleration similar to the C63 AMGs, with 280rwkw stock. Some mag in NZealand recorded a 4.8-4.9 0-100, and a sub 13s 1/4 mile.

Cant say its a better car than the R34 GTR, but its easy to argue it has a far superior engine.

i cant be bothered reading all 60+ replies to this thread, but ive seen one of them so called 300kw commonwhores do 220rwkw on dyno (v8 though)..... less traction and allot heavier, i dont distiguish between commonwhores or falkadores so i recon the 320kw falkadore typhoon would be an epic fail infront of a godzilla on the track, hill climb or drag.

I am a fan of the falkadore forced induction, they are a pretty decent car even though i hate ford and holden with a passion. But a standard or close to standard typhoon vs's a modded godzilla isnt really a contest.

Also any one can read the brochure from the car yard, tell him to put his money where his mouth is....

but beware, if its a 320rwkw typhoon, he will snap you once he finds traction (or if he is gay enough to run with traction controll on lol)

dood, 2 bar of boost, you wanna hope it has been tuned to run that type of boost, even if it is only for 400 metres, could be the slowest time ever if it lets go within the first 60', what turbos and internals has ya 26 got to handle 29psi?

No Idea whats on the inside, its definately a rebuilt motor though. It has nismo turbos, and oil pump with relocation and oil cooler, fuel pump injectors, pfc etc.

yeah...id def run 2bar on those mods...NOT!

Not sure on the suspension but it is as hard as rock. Going to need caps on all of my teeth from pot holes. Rears are 255 Bridgestone Potenza and 235's on front. I am fairly good at launching and shifting, though from past experiences I dont flat shift anymore. Wouldn't call myself anything close to a drag god though. What sucks is the majority of previous threads said I had a probable win, doh!

I spoke to the person I bought the car off on Sat and he said my power reading was only at 1.2 bar and also said for a one off drag that I should boost to 2 bar  . I talked the guy into giving me a run, he said not this week but maybe the next. I was going to put a small wager on it...but now im not so sure haha.

time to change your tyres mate. running different size tyres front to rear will quickly wreck your AWD... they must be the same overall diameter all round.

Damn, thats sucks because they are good BBS ones, they are 17" front and rear, just different widths. I will switch to driving rwd till I replace them then...bummer.

How did you get his rolling diametre from that? or have I missed something.

He might be running 235 45 17's fronts and 255 40 17's rears which are the same rolling diameter...or are you suggesting different widths will also cause damage?

Mmmm...Interesting.

Rear:

255 x 40 R17

Front:

235 x 45 R17

235/45 = 106mm sidewall. 255/40 = 102mm = not the same diameter.

it's not much different but given that rears in powerful GTRs tend to wear faster too you quite quickly are outside of the (small) tolerance that attessa can cope with. basically your rear wheels will always be turning faster than the fronts which means the car thinks there is rear wheel spin all the time. which is not a good thing.

yes with some thought you can get different width tyres that are the same diameter but it's not worth it for a number of reasons.

1. GTRs need all the front grip they can get. running smaller front tyres is a bad idea and will give you more understeer.

2. running same size all round means you can rotate front to back which will extend the life of your tyre sets.

it's a far better idea to take the pain now and sell up what you have and get back to a set of equal sized wheels and tyres than to live with the problem.
