Hi guys,

I'm running a stock turbo in my gts-t r33. I wanted to set my hi setting to 11psi.

How can i tune my profec B II for 11psi???

Help greatly appreciated.

hey mate i hooked one of these up on a r33 last week. basically just turn the knob to increase the boost thats the set gain. its in % so stock is 7psi on a r33, at 0%. 10% should give you 7.7psi 20% 8.4psi and so on.

adjust the gain if your boost trails off at high rpm by default its 5% i think. i only needed to have 7% of gain

honestly just play with it a couple of % at a time with a mate in the car and find a nice open piece of road

REMEMBER: DONT BREAK THE LAW

your boost settiing is reliant on the percentage that you dial in, this will adjust your solenoid to open at a particular boost level. for 11psi you will need about 22-25% on a standard turbo. all you do is when its on turn the chrome knob to select the % thing. when u do this you will also have to change your overboost, hit select til it comes up red with either a Bar reading or number, ie:100. 100 represents 10PSI as it wont have the decimal place value. so 112 means 11.2psi. now this setting will probably want to be set around 120 or 0.85bar, watever values you have being displayed (ie:Psi or Bar). What this does is cuts your boost by a percentage that you have elected in the other settings. 10% will be fine for the overboost cut value. finally your gain is to help the response of your turbo spooling. it goes between 5% and 25%, the higher you make this the faster its meant to make your turbo spool, the lower the slower but positive aspect is it will help stop your car from overboosting.

its a percentage of the turbo or wastegates limit. 0% being stock boost and 100% is freeboosting

gain adjusts how aggressive the solenoid is. low gain will make it ease onto boost and drop off in the top end, too much gain will cause it to spike. takes a fair bit of playing around but once you understand whats going on you should be able to figure out what you want for this

start boost or set gain sets the boost at which the solenoid starts to open and feed pressure to the actuator, set this 1-2psi below the boost you want to run, setting it too high will cause it to spike

Warning: 90kpa

L.20%

Cars boosting to 73- 76kpa with this setting. Might lower the gain though, boost comes on to quick.

Just wondering whats the L.20% refer to?

my settings are.... (note: set to psi, not kpa)

gain 14%

set gain 75

warning 106

limiter 4%

set 36%

high

the same except,

set 39%

sometimes need to adjust slighty due to temps from night to day.

if someone has better settings for me, plz msg me

my mods are on my lil sig block.

Just wondering whats the L.20% refer to?

L20% means if your boost exceeds the set warning level it will drop 20% of your overall boost level ie: if warning is set to 10 and it exceeds this it will immediately drop 20% of the boost pressure (back to 8psi). Problem being if its not correctly set up it will continually jump up and down.

mine is set on 16psi (50%) 15% gain, overboost warning is 17.5psi and the boost cut is set at 7% (L7%). On my application this is perfect.

for everyone running a profec, wat are your settings?

well ill have to check when my engine is back together but the 3 values are 35% 35% and 10psi for the wastgate to open. this gave me a solid 12.5psi in forth gear.

its not an exact science ya just have to play around with it. temp plays a big part in it morning/afternoon so i have the hi/low switch set for the different conditions.

some people have the hi low switch set for different gears also.

    • GTSBoy on your suggestion on another thread I had a look at those injectors and ended up getting them because of the quality.  Got the expensive ones.  
    • Hey guys been looking everywhere to try and find the correct gtr hood latch support part number but only found the first half and when I search with that number it sends me to an r34. The first part I found was 62515. If anyone could help me with the rest then I’d really appreciate it. Or if there’s some alternative hood latch support that would work even better cause I can’t find any for sale. (Searched on upgarage, partsouq,buyee,rhdjapan) 
    • If you've only done the upper control arms on the rear, AND you have changed their length (by more than about 1mm) to set the camber you want, then you will definitely need/want to install traction arms also. Adjusting the camber arms on their own WILL introduce bump steer and make the car unpleasant to drive. Most owners have no idea that their car could behave infinitely better than what they put up with. I'm not entirely sure what the Stageas need, but I am thinking that unless you have massive front spring rates and pretty soft rear springs, you have waaaay too much rear bar. Oversteer city, in my estimation. Combined with possible excessive bump steer from maladjusted arms, that could be a recipe for nastiness. ATR43SS2 is not a highflow. It is an outright replacement turbo. It's a little bit bigger than the largest highflow profile that Tao does. Probably a solid 300rwkW turbo where the bigger highflows will be about 30-40rwkW less. Nevertheless, we're only talking about ~300 rwkW, which is well within the abilities of the stock ECu to run with a Nistune on board. I would do so without hesitation - and I will be doing so when I get my finger out and actually get the injectors and AFM installed. But, if you would prefer to drop a whole lot more money on the ECU side, then I suspect you're looking at Haltech. The Haltech fanbois here will all spout on about all the available engine protection you can have, that you can't have with the Nistune option. And they're right. But it doesn't really come for free either. You will spend more money on extra sensors and the like, plus the work to install them. If the engine was built and therefore represented a big investment to protect, then I'd say definitely do it. If you view the current (and forever into the future) shortage of replacement engines as something to prompt similar protection, then also, do it. If you see a destroyed RB25 as an opportunity to put in a Mercedes or other V12 (like I kinda do)... then your perception of the risk/reward might differ. These are good injectors. You can also get a "better" set of the same with more flow matching, for more $$. 1000cc is where you will want to be. You will need an R35 AFM and adapter tube if you want to stay with Nistuned stock ECU. Otherwise, if going Haltech, you can ignore. As for intercooler. Just about anything will do. You're only talking about ~300rwkW. Just put a big core in there. Be aware that return flows do add significant pressure drop and will cost power and will make the turbo work harder to achieve the same goals. If you can manage a proper crossflow, do it. I'm keeping my very good return flow because I'm only expecting to be in the ~250rwkW range, and will live with whatever outcome I get.
