viet_boi
I wouldnt do it, rims are cheap these days, $500 or so for some decent ones with plenty of meat left. painting stock rims is like chucking hub caps on Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261089-painting-stock-rims/#findComment-4482778 Share on other sites
Ehgriez
I don't see the problem with it, but then again i dont see the point either. If you think it'll look better then go for it. GOOD rims aren't cheap. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261089-painting-stock-rims/#findComment-4482815 Share on other sites
Sklyn
If they're painted well I think it looks better.. I'm not a big fan of the stockies to start with. blacking them can be an improvment.. get new ones if you can!! Char
that silver 33 looks way better with them painted black. then again if u buy a $3 can of spray from superfriends auto and it doesnt turn out good, then ur whole car will look cheap Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261089-painting-stock-rims/#findComment-4488043 Share on other sites
Tezzah
Wow i never thought i would say the words "those r33 wheels look nice" yet the black ones have done it! just make sure you have buldging tyres like in the first picture. Hank Scorpio
I'd buy those 17" Drift-Teks someone has on sale for $1,000 instead. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261089-painting-stock-rims/#findComment-4489088 Share on other sites

JGTC
I'll second that, one of the nicest R34 GT-t's I've seen. A real cost effective way to change the look of your car Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261089-painting-stock-rims/#findComment-4489913 Share on other sites
viet_boi
yep gotta say, R34 GTT wheels painted in black is hot, but R32-R33 rims painted aint my thing..each to their own.. reNEGaDe88
I would say definitely paint the stock rims with the $3 paint cans from bunnings if want. Don't pay big $$$ to get it powder coated. Then u might aswell get bigger better rims. If u are concerned about ur car looking good with painted stockies. If the car is neat, has a good paint job and has a kit, the painted stock wheels will look awesome. But if ur car is too stock, and a lil piggy, painting the wheels will make it look boonga. The R34'spull of the painted rim look cos they are modern. If ur car is a R32 then painted stockies will look like 14" hub caps spec steel wheels with very high profile tyres.
