What have you tried to get it off with?

They often are very tight and hard to break the seal on - even harder if someone has put glue on them.

I have had to use a long bar to break the seal on mine the first time I took them off.

just a ratchet thingy.. with no extentions or bits on it. the lil square thing on the end fit perfectly into the plug hole.

theres not much room under there even wen jacked up. but u think get some metal pipe to make the handle longer?

prety hard to get some strength behind it when ur layn under there with not much room to move. lol

Yeah getting some leverage is the go. I was lucky in that I put mine up on a mates hoist - made it quite easy then to use a longer bar.

One other thing just make sure that you are turning the plug the correct way - dumber things have happened.

yeah, just use lots of leverage.. go buy a cheap 1/2" breaker bar... should cost no more than $30.

If your doing a GTR, drop the front driveshaft too.. gives you a little more room to work.

I fail to understand why so many people think its a good idea to do those plugs up so damn tight in the first place.

Its a tapered thread, you do it until its a reasonably tight... its to form a seal to stop very low pressure fluid from leaking out, not hold up the Sydney harbor bridge!

Problem is, once over tightened, its hard to make it seal up without tightening it right up again.. perhaps use a little blue gasket type silicone on the threads to make sure it seals without excessive tension.
