Yeah nice,

Haha!! Yeah I will keep my injectors thanks.

See how you got with the DE+T conversion then upgrade later to the RB25DET.

Well make sure to post pics of your progress!

I too want to have a drift car one day. It's just money and trucking it down to the track and owning a GTR cost you anyway LOL!

I did find a R32 GTS-T for about $3500. Its a wreck, but the owner said everything is working mechanically.

What he meant by wreck is, it's just the bits and pieces need to be put back in. (As in Interior things, like seats, carpet, air vents, gear knob, trimmings but the rest seems fine and needs a good clean up thats all).

No biggy... I probley rip half the stuff out anyway.

Cheap and free parts ehy... +1 for you then!

As I probably end up searching on wreckers, forums and asking others.

Cool!

Jamie

jamie if you want a el cheapo drift car $500 ke70 try slide that thing if not add a extra $500 get your self a ca like mine and supercharge it

did u want a track only car or want to drive it on the street aswell

check the ns forums theres heaps of rolling shells and ex drift cars being sold

LOL!

You know what the crazy thing is..?

I use to have a KE70 but sold it to fund the GTR.

Untill I saw Adam who is a member on SAU and he cruised out with his KE70. He lowered it, flared the guards and put wider wheels on and put in a 4AGE engine in and I was like FAACCKK! That looks cool.

Finally I realised how good the KE70 is and I so want one back!

Yeah most probably a track car as I don't wanna fork out for 2 regos and insurances.

Yeah I have been looking around NS but not signed up.

Who knows, I might get another KE70 and have it as a daily and GTR for weekends as insurance will not be much on the KE70.

Or yeah a S13 or S15 (Cost more) would be nice I keep looking around NS.

CA18DET and SR20DET both good yeah..? Much difference between the two except ones a 1.8lt and the other is a 2lt...

Thanks man!

everyone is gonna tell you to get a sr

think of it like this the ca is a 4cyl rb lol

parts and power are easy to get out of a sr but your gonna be just like every other tom dick and harry

im a random and want to be different, thats why ive done the onevia conversion and gone a spastic backyard spray can paint job

on ns all the sr owners will say CA stands for Crap As or Cheap As(we dont take offence to that one lol coz you can buy a motor from a slab of beer to $1000)

the ca owners wll say SR stands for Shit Revs only go up to 7,000 befor something goes bang and the ca will rev for another 1000+rpm or so

and ca owners will say its a proper nissan engine lol

but wat ever u get its gonna be cheap because na's are in demand so turbos are cheap as, are ther are heaps of track only cars or buy a shell strip it of wat u dont need and put in the bare essentials

also forgot to ask does anyone have a spare gtr fuel pump they wana give me for free or mates rates discount :stupid:

Yeah right, so CA is stronger then SR?

I'll keep looking around as something will pop up LOL!

Your right, as the longer I wait the cheaper they probably get yeah...

BTW if you are planning to do a bolt on turbo conversion for you N/A CA18, won't you need to strengthen your internals of the engine?

Or you running low boost?

Ask the President of SAU Ash (R31Nismoid) he's got a few GTR parts for sale.

See if you can do a bit of a deal with him.

He's a good guy but don't get offended if he sounds a bit blunt/rude in his post, it's just him.

But hey... If you ask him and get straight to the point he's cool.

as long as i keep it reasonable ( not goin more the 7psi)

and alot of guys do it, even some of the semi pros do it

after about 150kw im gonna need to look at upgrading internals

but 150kw is a long way away lol

Yeah right, I see... Awesome!

I spoke to b3za who is also on SAU and NS, he told me exactly what you said CA18 = RB26 minus 2 cylinders.

Me and dad went to Sandown on Sunday and we were talking about what car to strip out and track it and getting a S13 was on the list... Hehe!!

But we would drift it.

Let you know how I go later on.

Be sure to get some pics of your turbo upgrade.

You've been a good help about the CA18 engine.

Thanks!

    • GTSBoy on your suggestion on another thread I had a look at those injectors and ended up getting them because of the quality.  Got the expensive ones.
    • Hey guys been looking everywhere to try and find the correct gtr hood latch support part number but only found the first half and when I search with that number it sends me to an r34. The first part I found was 62515. If anyone could help me with the rest then I’d really appreciate it. Or if there’s some alternative hood latch support that would work even better cause I can’t find any for sale. (Searched on upgarage, partsouq, buyee, rhdjapan)
    • If you've only done the upper control arms on the rear, AND you have changed their length (by more than about 1mm) to set the camber you want, then you will definitely need/want to install traction arms also. Adjusting the camber arms on their own WILL introduce bump steer and make the car unpleasant to drive. Most owners have no idea that their car could behave infinitely better than what they put up with. I'm not entirely sure what the Stageas need, but I am thinking that unless you have massive front spring rates and pretty soft rear springs, you have waaaay too much rear bar. Oversteer city, in my estimation. Combined with possible excessive bump steer from maladjusted arms, that could be a recipe for nastiness. ATR43SS2 is not a highflow. It is an outright replacement turbo. It's a little bit bigger than the largest highflow profile that Tao does. Probably a solid 300rwkW turbo where the bigger highflows will be about 30-40rwkW less. Nevertheless, we're only talking about ~300 rwkW, which is well within the abilities of the stock ECu to run with a Nistune on board. I would do so without hesitation - and I will be doing so when I get my finger out and actually get the injectors and AFM installed. But, if you would prefer to drop a whole lot more money on the ECU side, then I suspect you're looking at Haltech. The Haltech fanbois here will all spout on about all the available engine protection you can have, that you can't have with the Nistune option. And they're right. But it doesn't really come for free either. You will spend more money on extra sensors and the like, plus the work to install them. If the engine was built and therefore represented a big investment to protect, then I'd say definitely do it. If you view the current (and forever into the future) shortage of replacement engines as something to prompt similar protection, then also, do it. If you see a destroyed RB25 as an opportunity to put in a Mercedes or other V12 (like I kinda do)... then your perception of the risk/reward might differ. These are good injectors. You can also get a "better" set of the same with more flow matching, for more $$. 1000cc is where you will want to be. You will need an R35 AFM and adapter tube if you want to stay with Nistuned stock ECU. Otherwise, if going Haltech, you can ignore. As for intercooler. Just about anything will do. You're only talking about ~300rwkW. Just put a big core in there. Be aware that return flows do add significant pressure drop and will cost power and will make the turbo work harder to achieve the same goals. If you can manage a proper crossflow, do it. I'm keeping my very good return flow because I'm only expecting to be in the ~250rwkW range, and will live with whatever outcome I get.
    • I have a heap that i have collected if you want some authentic ones still. Pm me if your interested!
