Its not like you're after a sponsorship etc that you wanna have a relationship what blah blah blah workshop (like SOMEBUM used to tell me).

what is SOMEBUM?

ps brandon that mercury day is next saturday hey not this saturday... right?

im still keen :worship:

If you've rather dick around waste money looking for someone who MAY fix the problem because of pride and ego, by all means

and principle, absolutely.

stubbornness FTW

Anyway EFI's alright. All these bashing is really over the top.

I forget, what did EFI do on your car? And who's bashing them? We already said it's not bashing, it's opinion gathering.

M1? Lets just say its illegal but hey AT LEAST they're doing it on a 4 lane straight road. I believe a lot here has done stuff that are even worse.

ahhhhh I forgot you couldn't crash when driving in a straight line!

and four lanes means that if you do crash, you can't possibly kill an innocent person in the wrong place at the wrong time.

That logic is similar to "It's ok if I drive drunk... I don't have far to go"

Hahaha you're smart enough trisboy. Yea its 19th I think. Hopefully I'll be able to swing by and have a look.

John: Principle will not get your car on the road. Its not like you're doing something guilty... -.-;

I'm strong in my convictions Brandon, so going against principle and therefore going against myself WOULD be doing something guilty.

Erm... in the middle of the night... Erm... chance of accident.... Erm.... going around corners at 120km... Chance of accident. You work it out yourself.

Dan's car is an example. Other than the fact that it took a couple of weeks. But at least at the end there's no problem at all. + I've already realised a lot of things are out of the control of the mechanics/workshops (parts taking longer to arrive, bolts round, crossthreaded). No job is perfect. You would have thought fitting a cat and front pipe to my car is only a 15-30mins job but it took more than an hour cause the front pipe and dump pipe section was seized up. Oh not to mention SOMEBUM told me its only a couple of hours job to change my dumps on the hoist. Imagine if I did believe that, I would be paying 1 or 2days worth of labour as compared to a couple of hours.

Anyway enough of my ranting. If I'd the same problem as you do, and if Dan recommend I go to EFI, I'll go there. The recommendation these people gets are a testimony to the work they do.

Oh yea, after yesterday, I'll recommend Gavin Wood to anyone for tuning too!

oh i get you brandon lolz

and yes ive heard mercury are dodgy as - however tacio had a good experience with them when they tuned his s1513 :worship:

Mecury reminds me of the club in the city.

Oh yea. wheres the Mexican!?!?!!? Its been a while since I heard anything about him. Is his 13/15 going or still offroad?

M1 on my way home the other night (middle of the night)... saw at least 70 other cars... just on the inbound side

Springbrook the other week (middle of the night)... saw....... Colin

hes still around, spoke to him yesterday infact - hes smashing out some hours at work

the sil is still kicking :D

Every one gets a good number there :worship:

it actually wasnt a high number (190kw or so), but they smoothed everything out he was telling me

I think only one person who actually works EFI was the driver of a car that night....and the 'skids' have been well blown out of proportion especially re the numbers of them.

From the SAU club you can count Warwick, Noel, Big Dave, Chris and a few random others as very happy clients

I know you guys have opinions and i have no interest in changing them but i dont want some one to come along and only see one side of the story

I'm not basing my opinion on just that night

Dan is very good, especially with that type of mechanical fault, also builds a mean engine!

So I hear

Where shall I leave the spare bolts?

I have box for them :D

I wonder if the 20e and 20de bottom ends are the same? Cause thats all i really need!

I'd guess yes, but its just a guess

IMO, that does not make it ANY way better

Baskin skid? Yes I agree its bad but who knows who was the actual guy who did it? You get people like this all the time.

They ALL behaved like idiots (not just talking about skids)

mercury, now theres a shop I WILL happily bash

MERCURY! Now there is a place i wouldnt go in a million years...but every one has different experiences at different places!

Well said

I'm dissapointed in you brandon

Tell him to show his dirty mexican face at baskins

I love mercury tunes...when i got one i had to get it retuned and at full load my AFRs dropped off the widebands scale! Yet still knocked its ass off at certain points. Gotta love it when people think that if they make it stupidly rich they cant hurt the engine and totally ignore ignition timing :ninja:

i need this clarified - is this a stab at ppl skidding/drifting on public streets, or ppl racing on the freeway or what?

either way not a good idea

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
