hahaha.. lol.. I guess your looking for a bit more then a laugh arnt you...

obviously plug and play meaning you dont have to go through the hassle of getting the tuner to chop up your loom to wire in the E-manage or Haltech thus creating a large bill at the end of the day

Thread needs more nuts and bolts.

P.S I love andy

sexy

there are plug in looms for haltechs now, making a power fc even more redundant

+1

a pfc should never be tuned with just a HC

Also PFCs are f*cking ancient. Do these people run 486s with their 18k dial up modems to connect to the interwebs as well?

you know where ill be when u get peckish

Oh tru? That might help decide.

What elso might help decide is I haven't found an antenna cable to hook up the TV yet :P

:rofl2:

Also vipec plug ins :domokun: There's simply no good reason to buy a PFC any more

I'd like to do things on the cheaper side for RIGHT NOW, but I can save for a PFC or whatever.

Obviously it's not simply plug in and boost your nuts off, but it does sound like a better option (so much easier to wire in hahaha). Then drive sedately to wherever/whoever to get a proper tune.

Other option I was leaning towards was a Nistune... even easier... and I can't see me adding too much extra in the future, so its an option.

Really all I want is more torque in the lower RPM range... It's only a streeter so I'm not fussed up high, cause it rarely gets to go at full song... I'd just like to be pushed back in my seat sooner :domokun:

Thanks for the PM too Tas

Even some model of SAFC would be able to give me a boost down low... for a far sight cheaper still. Any comments on SAFC/2 performance? It's only about 5 wires to splice in isn't it?

I dodnt think they control timing? Timing is what will give the greatest gains down low

agreed, and well priced too

go nistune or haltech or vipec, oh and im sure andy will rave about adaptatronic (or whatever its called) :domokun:

two good reasons and only two

Price point and the amount of people who can tune them, with ease.

Second point is of no use unless you've picked one up cheap.

If you only paid what they're worth (SFA), it's a far better option than a stock ECU, don't you think?

Thread needs more nuts and bolts.

I had to grinder the nuts and bolts holding the lawn mower blades on. Stupid rusty POS

but I can save for a PFC or whatever

Save for anything other than a PFC

my GTR came with a power FC it eats me up inside everyday knowing that my car is run by the atari of the ecu world

LOL. big <3

Sell of it to one of the many nuggets who still think they are the ducks guts, and then buy a real ecu.

I wouldn't bother.. very limited tuning from an SAFC

agreed, and well priced too

adaptronics are only great in 4cyl applications at this stage, but for 4cyl they cant be beat!

thats the plan the power FC and the two z32 AFMs should pay for about half of the ECU i want

Finding a tuner is a minor issue. GOOD tuners can tune more than just PFCs. It's just a matter of finding a GOOD tuner that can tune your ECU of choice.

As for price, meh, they all seem way overpriced to me for what they are. But yeah if you get one for a good price, definitely better than a stock ECU of course.

Most tuners I talk to now dislike the power fc because the tuning software is old and shit too, was good 10 years ago, but a lot has changed since then

Of course most are over priced, but say you paid what they're worth ($500 with HC) than paying $1500? for something much, much better.

EG: my basic car, 500 + tuning seems more appealing than 1500 + tuning

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
