Hi guys

I need some advise on my wreck

My car kissed a concrete pole. It happened couple of days ago by my friend who borrowed it to go out and got dodged a fast car on the opposing lane I dunno how it actually is cuz I was not there.

My 33 got quoted by a garage in Preston. I was told its not worth repairing cuz its gonna cost like $10k which is almost for another GTST. The guy told me to better sell it to some local wrecker. Y-Y

I'd like to ask you guys if there's a choices for me to solve this as I cant make up my mind seeing my boy become KFC mashed potato.

Should I post up for parts sale ? or just simply sell it to a wrecker ? Any other ideas are very much appreciated

Y-Y

no insurance?>

I think your mate owes you alot of money!

by the looks of things i'd say the place you took it is right, its not worth repairing... if you know what you are doing and have the time/effort.. part it out yourself.. you may get quite a bit of money back in parts

You don't have tools? Honestly if you spend some time on ebay you'll make a killing selling parts. Pulling things apart is easy, it's putting it back together that's more complicated, and you don't have to do that! I see a good intercooler, doors, glass, full interior, mirrors, headlight, wheels and tyres, side skirts, spoiler, bootlid, tail light, panels, the list goes on. Shit man do you know how many people like a good genuine steering wheel? (Assuming you have one). Find out what the wrecker will pay you. Someone on here in the Melbourne area will probably beat their price if you really can't be bothered. I would though. I had a mate that wanted to sell his old commodore. Got offered bugger all. Sold it in bits and made his asking price then took the rest to a wrecker who gave him 2 cartons of beer for the rest. But he had to do ther ebay legwork.

thats really upsetting to see. hope your mate was alright at least.

+1 on what the rest say its piss easy to take stuff off the car. i would do that.. you'll make shitloads off the parts as opposed to selling to a wrecker.

By the way I'll take the driver's side wing mirror off your hands if it works perfectly (if my ebay one gets too pricey). Also i've watched those 'gt' badges on the side go off to some twit who thought $65 PLUS postage was a good buy.

Your mate smashed it, then he bought it. Get him to buy you another car of equivalent value and he could worry about what to do with this car, that's not to say you can't help him.

If he doesn't agree to that, he is not much of a "mate", so then take him to court.

When it comes to money, you'll soon find out who is a genuine mate and who isn't. These kind of situations have a tendency to break friendships, as the party responsible usually tries to think of every way to pass responsibility and even part payment/blame to the owner. This is why i never drive someone elses car without full comp.

Good luck!

that sucks man. what did you mate say??? di he atleast say he will pay ya??? do you have insurance?

if not i would get him to pay for the damage or get him to buy you a car of equal value as stated above.

i let me mates drive my car with this always in their mind "you break it you pay for it" and so far no troubles at all.

hopefully it all works out for ya.

chad you can buy his gear box hahahaha

youll be amazed how much you can make selling each part individualy...Theres always someone who will need something.

dont let ppl make offers tho, search all the wrecking car threads (theres usualy 1000's) and look for the going rates of things... :ermm:

what you want just put your offer

well..after reading you guys recommending me to part things off

I'll try - -"

thx for all the comments from you guys

yes he's paying me full price of my car when I bought it. The thing is that I'm having him buy this wreck at the price when I bought it as a lovely car. So the wreck will be his and his decision to do anything to it. Sell to wreckers or even part things off. I'm sure he wants to earn more by parting things to help himself in paying me but he totally is not capable at doing that himself...so If anyone who wants any parts and is willing to take it off yourself (lets say its not too hard to take it off or if even it is) can let me know and I'll tell him

btw anyone selling 32 or 33 can let me see your thread..as I'm finding new one preferably in Melbourne =)

about lending a car to others...yea I never want to let my car be driven by someone else who's not my family.

Thing is that refusing led me to becoming shit talk for others. I couldn't care less but I have to live around with these people so I just tried to be kind-hearted here and this is what happened...Definietly no more others on my steering wheel
