is anyone else getting a tad over seeing commos on the road with chevy rear/front badges?

fark theres more holdens with chevy badges here than there are actual chevys in america!!

are they factory optioned or something?

i know its coz of the v8 engines in holdens but theyre GM engines, theyre not built by chevrolet they just happen to be used in them aswell :D

arent the americans meant to be the "less educated" ones? i bet if you went over there you wouldnt see a single corvette with holden badges on...

ive decided to get a 2jz transplant and stick toyota badges on my car. screw this shit :D

/end rant

I was over it 20+ yrs ago, when every 1 tonner had one, a mate back then even had one on his HQ sedan...

Admittedly it had a 327 in it but still I hated it like I would a ginger headed step son.

Wtf is with commondorks with Pontiac bonnets and Chev badges though?

Some sort of identity crisis.. They're all ugly, that's all that matters.

Lexus Soarer ... Toyota Soarer ? any different ?

i've seen Toyota Soarer..... then a few months later same car has Lexus tags on them

I see a lot of that too but to the Toyotas boys credit, other than the badges they are actually the same car most of the time

oh god ive seen this soooooo much lately - was speaking with some mates about it and they all were sick of seeing every 2nd commo with a chev badge - put a f**king vauxhall badge on it you sheep!

ive seen one with a Lexus badge on the back and a Toyota badge on the front.

I purchased my Calais with the chevy badges already on it. Can't say it would be something I would have done myself but the Idiot had removed all the Calais badges which I put back on. I've removed the chevy badge from the bonnet and left the boot garnish & wheel centres as chevy. CBF changing them.

i dont see what all the fuss is about.. i mean is the world really coming to an end if people put a better looking badge on thier car?? (which kinda makes sense for the LS1s ect.)

i see nothing wrong with having a bow tie at the front or back of an SS, clubbie or the like so rimon find something else to b!tch about mate... lol

p.s. i havnt done it

It's a bit Michael Jackson when you think about it, no matter what he does he'll never be what he obviously wants to be.

Mmmm chevy badged comms will now be know as thriller edition comms.

    • Yes...but look at the numbers. There is a tiny tiny fraction of the number of Joules available, compared to what is used/needed. Just because things are "possible" doesn't make them meaningful.
    • Thanks for taking the time to post that ! If anything changes or happens please do update us.
    • Somehow Vertimass/Oak Ridge National Labs has figured out a catalyst that can convert ethanol into C9-C10 hydrocarbons in basically a single step without ending up with a bunch of ethylene or similar waste products: https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2023224867A1/en I still don't think anything like this will keep us from needing to transition to EVs regardless along with all kinds of other electrification, but things like this will go a long way towards alleviating the problem of how to electrify things like planes. Renewable diesel is seemingly an easier problem as well, Chevron is already running refineries for the stuff and the primary feedstock is tallow and other waste fats from agriculture.
    • Ok so I have sorted everything with my uniclutch and  i can offer up a bit of feedback and some things that might help others.    I found problems with factory damper line. Weird shit and had trouble with peddle adjustment    I used this https://au.gktech.com/products/r33-gts-t-skyline-braided-clutch-line?_pos=2&_sid=22b01b9b9&_ss=r Also when adjusting peddle leave a bit of play. You can get into a over stroke condition easy.. Make sure you can push the slave forward after adjusting to confirm fluid can return to master then you will need to pump it up heaps…..not sure why but that’s how it is.    last thing the splined adapter is machined perfectly. If your input shaft is old like mine was I would put a bit of valve grinding paste on it and stroke it like a 15 year old. Just to give it a tad more clearance and to better match it to the spline.    reason is on a near flat shift I have had situation where the peddle returns a millisecond after you lift from the clutch. No slip or anything but I reckon this is due to tolerance on the spline being way tighter than stock clutch and binding for a sec. I think this will go away but also my spline was old. Box is old so I guess I should have checked better. It’s a super neat fit.    it feels light as and holds awesome without any noise
