of course it is...they max out at 350awkw though.

Great yeah i just heard a stupid remark from my local jap performance supplier today saying it cant be done as i paid and had installed my o44 in tank and was told no you wouldnt have one of these.

Thanks for clearing that up i was going to get on the phone and blast my installer.

cheers.

I'm interested. The 040 is in tank and is the same price as an 044 which can be used in tank as well?? What sort of flow rate does the standard OEM item have? Is there any reason I shouldn't just get an 044 and put it in the original tank position or are there headaches involved as opposed to the straight fit 040?

Any help appreciated, let me know payment details when I have these answers.

Cheers

The 044 was designed to be used externally, it can be used intank with a few modification to the cradle. More info on how to install the 044 as an internal can be found here:

Yes they are the same price, to be honest I dont know the flow rating for the standard items. Maybe someone can help with this answer?

Payment details will be sent once we have enough people interested.

whats the best pump for a r34gtt.??

depends on the power your making mate, if standard then the 040. If your standard pumps not playing up 'l just leave it in there. no need to 'upgrade' if you dont need to.

Is it any cheaper if i got 2 044 external pumps? Need to be able to support 450-500kw.

Sorry mate, prices are per item..

Cheers

I have an R33 GTS-t, i want to up grade but only looking for 270kw max. i want a striaght fit will the 040 handle this power?

Cheers

The 040 is not a direct replacement, you need to modify the pump cradle, here is guide how to do it, if you want a direct replacement then go with a nismo but be prepared to spend about $300-500.

Too easy, thanks aberax that is correct. To fit internally you will need to modify the cradle. There is also a direct 12v DIY that I suggest you do at the same time.

Im also looking at replicating a surge tank perspex casing to suit twin 044's similar to the one Dirtgarage had. would anyone be interested in this? im not sure of costs yet just something im looking at for my car.

Cheers,

Johno

    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
