Stage 1

-----------

For all drivers no matter what level of experience inc L platers and large fleets. Our courses for Phase 1 training continue to be held at Oran Park Camden.

During our 8 hour program you will be taught the application of unique, low risk accident prevention techniques designed to avoid a road crash.

After welcoming you, Auto-Motion's experienced team will reveal how, based on research, we shall help you to truly avoid and prevent road accidents occurring. This is rather more valuable than just giving you a day of car control and handling skills training. By reducing fleet crashes by up to 80% this could represent a $100,000 saving for a 100 driver fleet per annum - a huge saving.

Your comfort is important to us and that is why we have a maximum of 14 people per group, with classes situated in modern, air-conditioned facilities designed for education. During out time together, Auto-Motion's team will use whiteboard, overhead and video aids to maximise your educational experience.

Our teams aim by the conclusion of the course is to have you:

· Braking your car to a stop in the minimum distance possible.

· Increase your driving decision making ability

· Develop an ongoing attitude to defensive risk management motoring

· Dispel motoring myths and old wives tales

· Better understand your cars tyres and the vital role they play in safety

Stage 2

----------

Have you wondered at the skill of top rally drivers, TV stunt drivers and track racers? Their ability to set a car into a slide, control the machine and recover it within inches of disaster is a skill that you can learn.

Auto-Motion's Phase 2 Slide Control courses allow you to drive your car on our wet and slippery skid pan, exploring the secrets of precision car control. Our instructors will take you step by step, unlocking your ability to understand a cars natural slide tendencies. You will soon discover that most cars hold no surprises for a driver, once you have the power of knowledge.

Our courses are high intensity, four hour, half day sessions. You will have information overload that will take time to digest. The only real way to learn slide control is practice, so a half day rate allows you to attend as many times as you wish. Of course full days are available as well.

PHASE 2

SKID PAN

4 HOURCALENDAR

Welcome everyone to 2003, we have a few changes in store for you this year to enhance your driving pleasure.

One of the most significant is moving our skid pan activities to the new Eastern Creek facility. This move benefits you in the following ways:

· New smooth slippery surface means reduced tyre wear.

· Clean modern amenities.

· Easy access off the F4.

· Shaded viewing area behind safety barriers.

· State of the art electronic watering system. (No more water truck!)

Stage 3

----------

At last some serious fun for the serious driver. This course caters for the experienced driver who wants to use their performance machine in a safe environment.

Our full day Phase 3 programs are run on most of Australia's major race tracks. Our instructor team is bursting with knowledge, made up of current national series competitors, with experience in V8 Supercars, Supertourers, GTP and Formula 3 cars. Rest assured you are in good hands.

During the day, instructors will combine class room and in car training to finely tune your skills in high speed cornering, throttle steering, heel/toe downshifting and steering control.

Lunch is generally provided on these days but may vary with venue location. Days start at 8.30am sharp and finish around 5pm and are held in all weather conditions.

Drivers wishing to prepare themselves for motor racing will be able to complete our specific training for CAMS C3 licence accreditation. Our program will prepare you for competition like no other course.

I'll amend the thread with confirmed, paid up folks as Aaron gets back to me.

I've also asked the Exec comittee if they think it would be a good idea to invite Performance/Import publication to follow the progress of the training, take pics, write a bit of a story on SAU etc - Keep you posted on that idea.......

Cheers,

Folks,

As Phase 2 is a 4 hour skidpan session - we don't want to see this day being booked out by folks who are only interested in this Phase and not the other days

I dare say that we will get more interest in this day than the others -

So, I'll ask Aaron about this - but since it is a 4 hour session - we might dedicate 1 x 4 hour session for those of us who are signing up for the whole program - And there might be another 4 hour session (same day) for those who want to only participate in Stage 2 only.

I'll check this with Aaron.

I would definitely like to ask what the point of your post is but I have 2 problems

1. at least you're into skylines...

2. don't need this thread turning into a bitchfest

:(

diduc,

If you do all three courses - you can become an SAU Memeber for just $15 (instead of $50).

Anyone who does a single course or two courses only doesn't get to benefit from this offer. So do all three and take advantage of the discount on membership.

Once you are a member you can save heaps on other stuff too.

XEQTOR, got you down on the v.interested list.

Don't forget peeps - to take advatage of this traiing offer you must book & pay before the end of October 2003.

Craved, SAU had a race course last August with findlay, 10 skylines and 200sxs, 1 liberty and a saab :D

Its great to do a course like this in company like that - Top fun :P

very interested in this! just thinking are all these people going in together! if so how do we acknowledge that we are in this group!!

Dude the dates above are ONLY for this deal for SAU - so you are GUARANTEED to be in the group - if you book and pay by the end of the month ! No-one else is invited to this training except for SAU folks.

So like I said above, make sure you fill in the booking form with SAU-NSW group deal mentioned and with the dates above and your SAU alias as well as your real name - and all will be sweet.

That said, if we don't get enough starters, we may have to look elswhere to fill spots - so get into it now people !

Cheers,

just noticed that the 3rd day i wont be able to go to, i'll be in the states, and thats the one i wanted to do most!! is there a reason they arent all in one weekend?

Yes a few of reasons actually,

1) Aaron has a very busy schedule with his racing (200SX) and other training committments. For this deal to happen for SAU-NSW, we needed to be able to fit in with Aaron's schedule.

2) a) If this training were to be done on a weekend, we would be waiting another 3-4 months (at least) for free weekends. So well into next year...

B) Weekends cost more (track hire, cost to emply trainers, etc)

    • I have an Elite 2500, honestly most of this has been a lot of smaller tasks chasing little details and a whole lot of life getting in the way of bigger projects. I don't mind too much looking at a spectrograph vs having audio knock ears.
    • Nah nah nah nah. Don't do it. It's not all about the full throttle power delivery. The main "street fun" and drivability gains from smaller rear (in this case) is how you will have boost available from a low rpm when yo just roll onto the throttle. Think jinking in and out of traffic, coming out of roundabouts, etc etc, where you just want to roll onto the throttle a little and have the spooly noise from ~2000rpm and a swell of torque. More of what you've already achieved by going to 2.5. And then, towards the tail end of 2025 you can pull the turbo 4 out and put in a V8 like we originally suggested. :P
    • Cheers for the info mate, I'm old too, 60 years old next May, so a more linear delivery of the 0.86 would be better as baking tyres and snapping heads isn't on the cards for me or the car I assume a more linear power delivery would be better for engine and drivetrain reliability as well, IRT the torque load at lower RPM???, as well as lower EGT's???, if my understanding of that is correct, have I got that right??? I've only got a really basic understanding of turbo sizing and all there characteristics  Cheers for the useful information
