It's the VIO POV cam, said it earlier in the thread I think.

yeah it's a POV cam. not mentioned in this thread, but another one. :D they are good. I used one and was impressed. looks like I'll have to keep on with the DV cam set-up I have now.

thanks guys :3some: still smiling now.

Russ I hope you've got that new nugget of yours ready to go for the weekend too. Hope the shake down is going OK

Yeah the incar setup is a VOI POV. Cost about 1300 with the longer cables and suction cup mount but it was worth every cent - I've already spent 1500 on 2 previous setups that sucked (too hard to use so I kept forgetting) so this is a bargain really. That footage I posted on youtube doesn't do it justice, it records in HD widescreen but I've got no idea how to post the good stuff to youtube.

well done brus, driving it like a kart and just sticking it up in there, brilliant.

thanks guys :3some: still smiling now.

Nice work, Duncan! I got a few SMSs from Kel on the day letting me know your results. It's good to hear that the hard work has paid off, here's hoping it continues to in the future!

Like Steve-O mentioned, that little ATTESA moment coming out of turn two when you were next to the Commodore looked "interesting..." Obviously the response of the N1 turbos is a good thing, going by that!

Nice one dude :P Nice clean driving in the vid!

Yea nice driving in the vid,,,but please don't think for one sec that Duncan is a nice driver,,,he will give as good as he gets.

I'm not adverse to fixing panel damage and I whole heartedly encourage aggression where it is warranted.

Thankfully we didn't have to talk about it,,,but it was on my mind.

Neil.

ahh well there was a little bump that happened somewhere, I thought we missed but the panel says otherwise.....like Ben said it was only a cable tie to fix (I don't want to know why Neil borrowed the drill, honestly I dont....)

Unfortunately I learned my racing in a single make series with little cars.....with them you didn't really need a gap at all to stick your nose in. In fact the real reason I bought the GTR to race is I got a bit sick of the panel bills. You can see in the vid from race 2 where I almost stick the car up the middle before changing my mind and heading for the outside again.

Nick I've always been pretty unhappy with the 32 n1 turbs but they are all I can run. We are allowed to run cam gears this year and the guys at UAS got the boost to come on a good 500rpm sooner (at the expense of top end, but who cares about that coming out of a corner). I deliberately picked 2nd there instead of the normal 3rd to make the most of the inside line. Anyway, everyone knows gtrs dont oversteer

1 hour at Wakie next up in 4 weeks, including a tyre change. That will be a big acheivement if I can keep it all together, but I have had some luck there before.

just heard that duncan won a race today!!

so for 8 years ive been telling him he cant drive

it's a numbers game get in enough races and eventually everybody else falls over and you win one.

seriously though that is awesome Duncan, been following bits and pieces and it's clear you and many other have put a shit ton of hours into it (not to mention the money) so you must be stoked to get that sweet, sweet victory. congrats to you and the team :)

lol now the boys are fighting over the crappy jobs. Jas history shows kiwis only seem to forget wheel nuts at rallies, Mark's done a couple of enduros with wheel changes and they didn't fall off

thanks Geoff! (Steve Bradbury is my hero!) Now all I've got to do is repeat on 5 more weekends before the end of the year lol

    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
    • There’s probably people who’d like to do it and then when it comes to putting their hands in their pockets they’ll all disappear into the shadows
