lol yeah the boat doesnt often come off that hoist eh? my car was there for 3 days and still tim cracked me up after giving me the bill by telling me the thing I had booked it in for hadn't been done....apparently they thought fixing the gasket leak was more important than ricing it up....pfft.

Hey Duncan,I'm thinking about becoming a paid up member of the club for amongst other benefits being able to go to race tracks on track days and give my GTR 33 a run, just wondering if you can tell me what's required of me before I can race on the track or even do solo laps to avoid hitting or being hit,as I don't want to damage my baby just want to have some fun legally??Cheers Grey Pearl.

Hey Rob, looks like you are based in Ballarat, best bet would be to contact the SAU Vic club, I'm based in NSW. I'm sure they will have beginners track days like the one we are running in 2 weeks.

shagged indead lap dance girl

shush Pete- only you get lap dances for wins

after a mixed day 2, i'm just a little too pissed to post proper, so lazy Kel says what happened today is here....

haha glad to hear you finally got pete off your pc kyle....I'd hate people to get the wrong impression about you too

good question about the motors really.....so far I've never had the same problem twice, but I've had plenty of problems...

fuel pump died (bad earth) pinged to death

crack in an oil gallery in block

radiator came off mounts and lost coolant, cooked block and head

engine builder's mistake (crack in oil pick up)

spun bearing on the original unmodified motor (can't really complain about that)

etc etc, couple of others I can't remember

we always seem to come up with an interesting and new way to kill them.

the thing is...honestly....everyone competing seriously with these motors kills heaps of them.....we just own up to it :P

this one looks pretty minor, mostly because I know what a fcuked motor feels like by now and I backed off early. Probably caused by oil pump dying, will know in the next day or 2.....big end 5 and 6 are damaged but not spun so shouldn't be too bad.

Russ.....stop offering to help other people and get your boat ready for targa! but just incase you do have a motor that needs a good home I've sent you a pm :D

Sounds like the 26's are very over rated engine and you should invest in the rb30 or a rb20 , bullet proof engine they are .

Fatz is just self explainatery

Luckily i have 2 pc so fatz can look at porn while i can do whati need to.

lol I think he's sleeping with you. I know he's hard up but you could do better kyle.

not really sure that surge is the problem, I run the trust sump (about 8l) and run it overfull but I never got the bloody data logger running so I won't know until next time:(

btw I have gone back to the future and chucked an rb30 in the tow car, should make the old stagea pull a bit better. that one should be back next week hopefully.

yeah .. true

before we dry sumped, we were upto 13 engines... and we were so close to giving it away

we have only built two engines in the last two years now , the one in the r32 is still the same donk we fitted before Tsukuba ( it's almost two years old now) and the one in the r34 hopefully it can

become two years old too..lol

but yeah dunc, it's a bloddy pain in the ass when it's different things, how were the oil temps?

also i reckon if you can run an accusump , bloody good idea, rules permitting ( if its cracked oil pump one word, REIMAX)

Same Id never go back to a regular oil system. Since dry sumping ive had one engine problem which was tune related and never had a bearing failure since.

Im not sure Duncan is aloud to run accusumps, surely they'd bend the rules with pity though!

lol no dry sumps, no acusumps. pump gears might be a different story as long as noones reading this thread

we've got an accusump for the nugget until it goes dry sump, looks like that is the only way to keep a serious race car together reliably

When you are all truly, completely and utterly pissed tonight grab a happy snap....i mean your profile needs a good pic

Sorry to hear Duncan and you cop it on the chin well though. You are finding and overcoming lots of problems and running out of bad luck and sorting issues so light at the end of the tunnel.

Hmmmm get a VG once sorted no probs, just no front diff.

Sam Markov runs a Acusump in his R32 GTR with over 400wkw and no probs. Has some smarts in it though.

    • I buy my wheel cleaner in 4 litre bottles now. Euro brakes are brutal
    • Sounds like it may all just be some baseless outrage stoked by the carexplore guy? As in the linked social media outrage on facebook just goes back to carexplore as a source again. Further shown by the council response that nothing actually has changed: "The Private Land Use Permit has been part of the Casey Community Local Law for a number of years. It's important to clarify that this permit is not new, and no changes have been made to the permit or the Local Law in relation to the permit." The full council response in Prank's link sounds reasonable to me. Saying that as someone who neither lives there nor has a front yard to call their own
    • Clutch hydraulics are also all good, looks like a brand new slave cylinder and everything bled up well. No idea what the actual clutch is, and I don't intend to pull the box off on the floor to find out, so unless we have trouble on the dyno or at shakedown that will remain a mystery for the new owner
    • Front brakes are G4 8 pot calipers over 330mm discs with braided lines. Everything looks good, pretty sure these are off my old 350. Pads are brand new and judging from gold colour are Winmax which is what I also run on my race car, Neil and I both sourced brake stuff from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney who really knows his stuff Everything has bled up nicely with all new Motul RBF600 fluid, there were 2 loose hard line connections and the calipers were new on the car so I ended up doing it 3 times but it is perfect now
    • So, starting with the rear brakes. They look like standard R33 GTST, and will need new pads shortly (less than 5mm material, probably only 1 day left). The slotted discs (probably DBA) are near new at 18.01mm and the lines are braided
