I'm using anything. motul 4100, elf whatever in this motor since it was run in, and penzoil 20/50 to run it in. Lots of theories about which oil to run too. Either way I change it every weekend.
Only cause it's got broken bits of steel in it :bunny:

 you got me there, I lied.

generally I change the oil once only per motor. the second time it just sort of dribbles out when I take the sump off on the engine stand :bunny:

the pumps do one of two things.

The crank spins on the inside gear (which is the drive problem)

Or the outter and sometimes inner ring breaks

Duncan's has fractures in the outter ring and piss poor clearances. Oil testing will tell us more about what happened first.

Its not broken but it does have fractures in it which can be seen with crack testing.

Realisticly the N1 pump is not up to the job he needs it to do and something better is required. Same goes for the sump extension. It may work just fine the majority of the time but its that one split second where it starves that kills a bearing.

Next engine will have oil pressure data logging and an automatic oil system shut down like the one my GTR runs. If pressure drops below a preset value the engine shuts down. There is obviously an instant override incase your in a tricky position and would rather blow and engine than be smashed into.

I saved an engine last week at oran park. Went bush and the dry sump belt collected a stick. The belt was thrown off and the engine instantly shut itself down preventing any damage.
