Is the current coppermix twin the same as the older g-max twin and is

the current coppermix twin like this...

My clutch has some rattle at idle at the lights. it slips fine when cold but when

hot becomes quite grabby -- so that I find it difficult to ease it into motion from a stop

without provoking drive-line shudder, to the extent the transmission (gear shift) will

visibly judder up and down.. in other words, when hot there is just no more

smooth slip available anymore. Just judder.. or fully "on"..

of course after you are moving, or you take off fairly smartly, all is good. The judder

is most difficult to avoid in fuel station forecourts, parking garages, etc. And only

when really hot. Eg, after 30 minutes of driving or more.

The new Coppermix is completely different to the older G-Max clutches. They are HUGELY smoother.

thanks, well, I guess I'll upgrade when it wears down too much.

I was told that almost all suitable clutches are like this, except for one expensive HKS model which doesn't rattle.

but it is good to know the current coppermix twin is better than the old g-max twins.

yep the G Max in my car does the same thing, judder and carry on... I actually find I drive it better in bare feet as I can really feel the catch point!

I used the Coppermix single in my old car and it was a lovely clutch but didn't hold the power I needed it to... never used the twin but I'd definitely consider it for an upgrade when this one is gone, supposed to be much better than the old G Max... there is a review somewhere from one of the V35 boys who put the Coppermix twin in his car, mixed results there though
