skyliner33wa
Hi all, I have had my car for a little over a month now, and took the drivers side door panel off, the plastic was missing (legs were getting cld driving late at night and early morning ) i gought new plastic and put that on, but notices that the tools that put the central locking actuator in did not use any existing wires and ran new wires not thru the correct way (just over the top) are their any spare unused wires in the door that i can use for the central locking actuator, or anyone else run into this problem? cheers Kris Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/26225-drivers-door-spare-wires/ Share on other sites
Henros
There are no spare wires in the door. However, there are unused spaces (holes with no metal contacts) in the wiring connectors where the wiring from the door plugs into the chassis. When I installed my alarm, I put new contacts in the unused holes in the connectors and routed the wires for the door lock actuator through the original wiring sheath. This gave a very neat look but did involve a lot of labour, which is probably why the tools who did yours took the easy way out.
