bilsteins on ebay

Just a heads up for those looking at purchasing these for their car.

Make sure you get all specifications and rates etc confirmed before buying.

I have been told they may not be the real deal, or the actual specs etc are not known or similar circumstance.

Hi Guys,

It was I that asked MAG86 to post this, as I was asked by a few people that were thinking of purchasing these shocks.

I have spoken to Heasman's in Sydney and they tell me they could be the real deal, but are certainly outside of factory spec and the guy wont disclose what the spec is.

For my money, if your not looking at coilovers, I would be looking at Koni regardless of the money.

I stick by the old rule, "IF it sounds too cheap, it usually is" Don't be caught short looking for a deal. Be very sure what your buying before out laying the hard earned cash.

Cheers, D

I can guarantee that these are the real deal. and spec's are available on request, Pm gts145 on here or the R31 club, Or Classic skylines Australia.

Also look at the Seller FeedBack 100%.

"Also look at the Seller FeedBack 100%"

That's bullsh!t, because a 100% perfect feedback can be BOUGHT using ebay's "sqare trade" system.

If you don't like a feedback you can pay square trade and have it removed.

Cheers, D

Hey Ghostrider and everyone else. These are being sold by me. I am the only person in Australia to have them, and they are the real deal. If anyone has any problems or questions about the authenticity of these Shocks, please ring David at Quadrant on 9769 9666 to verify that I am a legitimate reseller of these shocks. I source them direct from Germany through Quadrant, and have done for over a year. I am the only stockist of R31 Bilsteins in Oz, and had to invest a hell of a lot of money to stock them.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I go to a lot of trouble to source and/or reproduce parts for these cars.

I hope that clears it up. This rumour started when I was asked a question about how adjustable the bilsteins were by an ebay user. I replied that they are not adjustable like Koni's are adjustable, but the rears can be adjusted by height before bolt up. The ebay user accused me of being a fraud after I replied to his question, as he believed all Bilsteins were adjustable, which they are not. Some are, these are not, and never have been.

For the record, my ebay feedback is legit.

    • Read the ECU for fault codes or have someone else do it. A faulty coolant temperature sender is usually listed in ECUs. If the sensor itself is not busted it can also be a bad ground connection. Or in a really unlucky case, damaged wiring.
    • Can't be a Futjitsubo as those are made with a flex piece and Reimax is smaller in pipe diameter. If anything it is closest to a Mines pipe, but evidently it is not an actual Mines pipe.   Classic word humor
    • Alright I will try to not forget.   As GTSboy replied to you already, problem is mainly the mismatch between the actual exhaust part and the denomination in the papers. That basically just looks like tampering to a cop, if they were to check your car and notice. If it had been done right they would have clarified it to be a custom pipe and just given it a certain part number that you have to engrave or weld onto the pipe. I will definitely inquire on what to do. Changing the pipe wouldn't be my favorite solution as it costs a bunch of money and the cat was fitted with the front pipe and exhaust under the car, and if the front pipe flange does not sit in the OEM location the cat will need to be refit for any other pipe to work. It also usually doesn't need a brand name or something like that, but more something like a part number. Usually for exhaust parts, on silencers and cat units specifically, there is a badge that reads the certificate number that belongs to these exhaust parts under EU regulation. You get these numbers after you put a part or group of parts through the tedious testing according to EU vehicle legislation and they pass. You can find these "part numbers" on various parts throughout a EU vehicle. On windows, headlights, engine parts, seat belts and so on. All these parts have gone through standardized testing and acquired a so called ECE or EG Certificate that makes them legal to use by themselves in all countries that adhere to these standards. You can also not alter these parts in any way, if you do they become illegal. An example for stampings on an exterior lighting part, the people who need to know can find the documentation for this unit in a database. I do not know what all the standards and so on mean.
    • If that was the case I suppose you could call it "Mein's" brand....  ... I'll see myself out... 😅
