Yup. I've put a couple of these in R32's.

Haven't had any issues to date and the drivers are very happy with the results.

I did the work myself as I've had electronics experience, but I would be surprised if you got it done for the $40 that the advertiser is claiming.

I solder cradles into the PC boards so the chips can be easily removed for future EPROM programming when sent away for reprogramming.

Just don't expect 1000hp results or try to push too much power through them.

There are limits to what you can program into the IC, but they are a very cheap bang for buck item.

so you'd recommend them for the price? and what am i expecting to pay for soldering etc?

Yes I recommend them for the price, but like I said - Don't try to milk too much out of them.

As far as soldering, expect to pay around $100. You may need to take it to a specialty electronics shop as most TV repair mobs will not cover the ECU if they fry it.

Im sus about pre-programmed chips from ebay/trademe...majority of them just copy one person's custom tune and spam it out as a generic map for anyone who buys. We all know every car is different so how could one generic tune work for all...

Save your money and get a proper ecu remap with either nistune ( www.nistune.com ) or contact CEF11E ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/CEF11E-m12633.html ) who programs ecu chips.

Both options will provide you a more reliable tune as opposed to plugging in some 18psi unknown chip...

TV repair shops will charge about $50 to replace the chip if they have a desolder station.

hey there

im just wondering wether or not any body here has had any experience with these chips as the supplier is in australia?

any info would be great thanks.

marobi chip

I am also curious about this as I am considering the option for the RB20DET swap into my S13. I dont need a lot of power and dont plan on a turbocharger bigger then an RB25 unit. But ive never heard anything about this company as I am located in Chicago, USA.

True, but a standard computer will also run, its just that it will hit all the overboost protections. A generic chip done well will be super conservative like a stock ECU but without the overboost extreme timing cut/richening. So it certainly wont be as good as a custom tune, but a lot better than a stock ECU. So not necessarily a bad choice for a streeter done on the cheap.

    • Oh...ok. I know that the smaller one that came with 20/25 N/A NEO can last many km or can blow like in few meters...so i rather have new/spare one 🙂 But that again even if i want to the + T i do not need "crazy" (200Bhp would be fine for me for the start).   Thanks for the FB group.  Of course i will not be doing the +T myself(i cant do anything on a car  but i just gathering info. I think the most "problematic" thing would be to get all the parts...and of course know what exact parts i need 😄
    • 405mm from the underside of the flange to the tip. I will have photos soon. Mine is in a Neo, is AA000.
    • AA000 is for R34 GTT. 11140-05002 is not a part number that exists in Nissan's parts catalog. R33 GTST is 11140-21U00. 11140-05U02 is for the RB26.
    • For something like this, I'd skip just going for the cheapest, I'd find the place with the best experiences people have had, especially for restoration work. Like everything, there is upholsterers, and then there is upholsterers. Some really great upholsterers for automotive restos won't even appear to have an online presence.   My guide would be find some of the old school classic cars that have been fully restored and are immaculate, and ask the people who own them who did the work on their seats
