Hi guy's, I'm in a pickle of a situation, lost ma job a month and a bit ago which meant the company car had to be given back. Not so bad because I've got a new job and its going well, problem is my wife needs her car. The skyline even if I finish it isn't the type of car you want to escort clients around in.

So I want to know how much I could get for the skyline and see if I can get something else, doubt I'll sell it because I've put way too many hours into it to part with it for just a normal car. Still I need to know what my options are.

Fair simple build up,

R32 Gts-t 1989 type-M

RB30det engine

Rb26 head

Aries pistons

H beam rods

T04z turbo

PFC djetro

800cc injectors

cam gears

R33 manual gearbox

exceedy 4 puk clutch

2 way kaaz diff

R33 GTR v-spec front disc's and caliper bracket

18x10 +20 rear's VSKF's

18x 9 +20 fronts VSKF's

Couple gauges, AVC-R boost ctrl

HSD coilovers

caster arms

shortened frnt upper control arms

FMIC, oil cooled, alloy rad, twin pod intake

Rear has had guards stretched professionally

25mm front gaurds

Cobra-daytona 2 reclining buckets (both seats)

hydrolic handbrake

driver side harness.

Paint is crap, half stock half matte from where body has been repaired. Fair straight no major dents. Has been drifted but this engine has only been on the dyno and due to an electrical problem hasn't had the tune finished. At the moment it cant be driven but I'm sure I could fix it I just don't have the time as its locked away elsewhere due to the lack of car parking at my place. Not registered but it can be.

Thanks guy's.

(If you don't know, don't make up crap)

the markets shagged at the moment, so unless u wanna sell it for way less than what u should i'd keep it.

I can't even get 18k for my 251kw @ 12psi RB30DET powered R32 and she's running, registered and in excellent condition.

$18k, Whats the running gear on the RB30? I remember seeing your car at Aldgate a long time ago and it looked brand new.

I'm probably looking around 300kw's+ from this setup once re-tuned but your car has way more class and with the market being so crap $15-16k would be about right I suppose. Not worth selling it in my eye's. I don't want to sell it in the first place, especially seeing I haven't even played with any of the new bits yet but I cant see a way out of it. Could try to swap it but I doubt anyone would have something that suits what I need and is value enough for me to give up my pride and joy.

I'm getting a headache, this really sucks.

to cut it short mate, keep it and finish it off over time. you'll never be happy with what you can get. id say between 15-18 once its running and rego'd.

you can pick up commo's or ex government cars at the auctions for stuff all. i recommend doing to that to have a nice 'cheaper' daily that would be good for moving clients around in if your wanting to keep the skyline.

What about selling just the engine?

I'd think the Trust manifold, waste gate, twin pod intake and T04z would fetch at least $3000 on it's own.

The head has been ported and everything machined at Lewis Engines...

if you throw in the gearbox set up and the complete engine and turbo setup id say around 8-9k and that's if you can find someone willing to buy it.

everyone's a bunch of tight asses these days!

I think you'll have a lot of trouble selling it not finished at a good price

have a look at Carl's 4 door http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=325747 his car is mint as and has been for sale for ages.

Fk me Carl's four door is neat as. Think I've seen it down near the truck lineup at the docks before. I really want to keep it but the more I talk it over with the wife the more I realize it needs to go. I'm going insane trying to figure out a way to keep ma car.

Yeah, nobody is buying anything. I've had my toys up for a while now.

Considering your isn't registered, engineered, finished, or even with a suitable finish, you won't get much. :(

Tell me about it. Had some the sphincter of the universe reckon he could get a stag like mine for under $10K ... good luck with that dreamer!

Salesman told me some months ago when this financial crisis hit that it's getting harder to get car loans from a bank but they were still able to organize finance for buyers through the yard. The yard which shall remain anon. looked to sell POS only however....

Sent PM about stagea's

stripping it for parts is the ONLY way to get any decent coin back.

i have recently stripped the muppet bus "r33sedan" and sold off all the goodies.

had a build 25, high mount etc, so far i have recouped $12.5k from parts and i still have nismo injectors etc left.

i can then bolt a standard engine in the car and sell that for 8-10k.

which in the current climate is easily achievable, but it does require you stripping your pride and joy.

    • I suppose that's true. Barring almost any situation, I'll never sell so what the market does is kind of irrelevant to me. It's possible I'd make most of my money back. That spreadsheet I mentioned? Maybe I could make back more than what the car's total costs thus far are, but the parts and all that is possibly a different story... Thanks for reading. It was certainly a good moment and just makes the ties to the car that much stronger. It's exciting that the option will be there to bring it over, however I have some plans with a shop that may end up keeping the car there longer, not sure. Coupled with the fact I want to move there and haven't solidified any path yet. So in a way, it feels like I'm in a limbo state that is uncertain; time will tell.
    • No worries, everything worked out in the end. I just wanted to make the point that it doesn't matter where it comes from (I.E Australia), it can be broken or improperly built. I would still purchase from these companies in the future. B2R - Not certain how that finished, this was on a car I wired a few things and street tuned. I know the owner ended up shipping the motor back to Australia for investigation. Hopefully some of it is covered under warranty.  Turbosmart - I always pressure test everything that goes on my car. It's a habit from my career in oil and gas. I run two 40mm's and both had major leaks from the actuator to exhaust portion through the shaft. I returned both, they shipped me back two and one was leaking and the other had a 38mm top (40mm gate with 38mm actuator cap, no idea how that happens). Eventually after a lot of back and forth I found myself with two non-leaking gates. I believe this happens a lot more then people would like to believe but you would never know if you don't pressure test them prior to installation. Crank Motorsport - Issued a full refund and let me keep the seat rails. I turned them into scrap metal for other projects. GKTech - Shipped me out a replacement and asked that I modify it as per my idea and that they would do the same for a future revision. ATP - Can just needed a large shim to bolt up properly.  Haltech - They started an actual proper Beta channel for firmware's a few months back and stopped using the general public for testing. I'm now much happier.  Speedtek - f**k Speedtek. I would love to watch them burn.
    • I've got a Turbosmart wastegate, ATP catch can, many GK Tech parts and Haltech everything. Everything's been perfect, sorry to hear your experience wasn't the same
    • The only high-power RB I've personally seen go pop after running for all of an hour on a dyno was built by B2R, while being remotely tuned by B2R. The only wastegates I've ever had leak like a sieve, return, still leak, return and get shipped back the wrong ones were from Turbosmart. The only final drive that I've ever purchased that were unusable, twice... were from Speedtek. The only seat mounts that I've ever purchased that placed the seats in the door frame were from Crank Motorsport. The only poorly designed parts that I had the manufacturer confirm should have been designed as per what I mentioned were from GKTech. The only ECU I've had firmware updates consistently break things are Haltech. The only catch can I've purchased that didn't fit in its advertised spot was from ATP. So forth and so on... Moral of the story, doesn't matter where it's from. Do your research beforehand and stick with products and companies you've trusted in the past.    @joshuaho96 If you want it done right, do it yourself.
