I was told by the RTA that because my GTR is a personal import I'm exempt from any law about emissions. Something about a yellow compliance plate.

And what is the truths about pod air filters? Every time I ask I get different answers. Two weeks ago I was pulled over and checked under the bonnet to see a box around the pods. Cop said that's fine. I asked him why I need the box he said because it because of the risk of them being a fire hazard with oil and grease on them. I have also been told it's because of noise pollution and other reasons.
